Levious's POV
***
The only reason I was standing in front of Agleria’s door was the scent of her pregnancy. This beautiful woman was carrying a werewolf’s child.
“Why are you standing there, King… ah, I mean, Mr. Levious? Is there anything I can help you with?”
I racked my brain for a reason why I was standing in front of Agleria’s door. There was no way I could be honest with Donna about this.
“My ring fell and rolled all the way to the door of Agleria’s room. I wasn’t stalking or peeking.”
Donna smiled sweetly. “I wouldn’t accuse you of that either, Mr. Levious.” The woman in glasses looked back and forth between me and Agleria. “Then why are you two still standing here? Come to the living room.”
Donna motioned for Agleria and me to follow her, then we sat facing each other in an awkward silence. “Come on, introduce yourself to Mr. Levious, Agleria.”
The woman in the white T-shirt looked stiff, but she seemed to have to pretend not to know me in front of Donna. “I’m Agleria, I’m in college—”
Agleria felt nauseous. I raised an eyebrow when I heard Agleria gagging repeatedly before finishing her sentence, while Donna looked panicked.
“I’ve heard you gagging since this morning. Are you okay, Agler?”
Agleria still covered her mouth with her right palm and nodded slowly. “Y-yeah, Auntie. I’m fine.”
“Maybe after this we can go to the hospital to—”
“No.” Agleria shook her head quickly to refuse Donna’s offer. “I’m fine, Auntie. Stomach medicine doesn’t always work right away.”
At that very moment, I grew a little suspicious of Agleria’s behavior. Donna had mentioned that Agleria had some stomach issues due to stress and irregular eating habits, but I didn’t fully buy that explanation.
All werewolves should know that Agleria is pregnant. That nausea isn’t due to stomach issues or irregular eating. I’m sure Donna already knows about Agleria’s pregnancy.
Besides, I know this is the first time Agleria has had s*x with a man. I also saw a bloodstain on the hotel bed before I left her there.
I am the father of that baby
“In that case, let me do the talking.” Donna finally volunteered to introduce Agleria to me because she always felt nauseous whenever she tried to speak. “Agleria is my sister’s daughter. She’s currently busy studying management.”
Donna and I exchanged glances for a few seconds because we were sharing a mindlink that Agleria wouldn’t be aware of. I asked her to speak without beating around the bush.
The middle-aged woman swallowed her saliva and began speaking again. “Agler… This is Mr. Levious… Mr. Levious is your uncle. Not a biological uncle because we don’t have any brothers. Mr. Levious is your mom’s friend.”
I saw the look of shock on the beautiful woman’s face. She seemed to be processing everything Donna had said in her mind, yet chose to remain silent.
“In the final moments before Emma passed away, she asked me to marry you two as her last request. I—”
“What?” Agleria, who had been silent with her head bowed, now looked at Donna in confusion.
“I know you’re not ready for this because you’ve just lost your mother, Agleria.” Donna tried to hold Agleria back by grabbing her wrist so she wouldn’t leave the living room. “But this is my sister’s final request.”
“I can’t possibly marry my—”
"I know you’re probably worried about the age difference between you two. Age won’t be an issue if you marry a good man, Agleria. Emma wouldn’t set you up with a bad man. She—”
I didn’t want this to turn into an argument, so I tried to speak up to stop them from arguing. “It’s okay, Agleria. I’ll wait for your answer until you’re ready.”
Agleria gently brushed aside Donna’s hand, which was still holding her wrist, then returned to the room with a look of annoyance on her face.
Donna looked at me and bowed her head to apologize for Agleria’s rude behavior toward me. “I’ll try to explain this to Agleria.”
“Didn’t she get to see her mom one last time?”
“No, King Levious. At that time, Agleria was on campus. Emma had already told me about your relationship twenty years ago. She deeply regrets having refused the Moon Goddess’s decree to become your Luna. Because of that, she must bear all these curses, and we agreed to comply with the Moon Goddess’s request regarding your marriage so that Agleria wouldn’t be subjected to further curses.”
“A wise choice. But… do you know that Agleria is pregnant?”
Donna fell silent, her eyes darting around like a thief caught red-handed trying to hide something. “You… You want to call off your wedding?” Donna asked in a soft tone. “But… What about the curse? I—”
“I won’t call off my wedding with Agleria… Because she’s carrying my child.”
I left Donna’s apartment after saying those words, then returned to the Geeser pack to meet the Moon Goddess as per our prior agreement.
In a quiet place, my eyes watched the light slowly descend and illuminate a circle that usually served as the Moon Goddess’s resting place, while I stood tall before her.
“King Levious of Geeser pack ... I’ve already told you that Agleria is your Luna. She is a pure human and has no werewolf blood from her mother.”
“I know, Moon Goddess.”
“I hope you don’t do the same thing you did to her mother twenty years ago.”
I let out a long, slow sigh. “To be honest, I didn’t do anything to Emma. She simply didn’t want to leave her human husband for me. So, the curse isn’t my fault.”
“Of course, it’s not your fault.” The Moon Goddess spoke again after silence had filled the room for nearly two minutes. “Go meet her, then mark her for mating.”
“Mating?”
“Yeah, a lot of werewolves have been approaching her lately. Some of them are rogues. You have to protect Agleria and her baby from them.”
