Chapter 19
Early Saturday, Michael arrived bright and early to go with her to the garden center to pick out plants. Rather than the usual bone-deep fear, Jessie was grateful to find herself feeling just mild anxiety. Enough to still be there, but not enough to kill her excitement about shopping for the plants and the fun she would have spending time with Michael. She fixed them some travel mugs filled with hot chocolate to enjoy on the trip, as the garden center was a bit outside of town. Once they were on the road, Michael asked her how Thor was doing.
“It’s tough to say. He acts fine in my training sessions with me, but he keeps raging at Causy if she gets too near his kennel. During one of our training sessions, while on his long lead, he tried to attack her.”
