Chapter 20
Galen and his crew showed up first thing Monday morning as promised. When the vehicles pulled up, Causy came out to investigate, leaving none of Galen’s men inclined to step out of their vehicles at first. Having eaten in the same room with her and knowing her extensive training, Galen was no longer quite as fearful of the dog, so he climbed out of his truck and went to the door to get Jessie. She met him at the screen.
“Good morning,” he greeted warmly with a slight wave.
“Good morning. I guess today is the day that it all gets started.” She crossed her arms over her chest as if hugging herself.
“Yep, though, my men are a little freaked out by Causy there,” Galen said with a chuckle.
