Rivaled Love
Irina kept speaking in a much lower tone. Even though my mind was searching for the truth and I was beginning to see beyond all her usual soft-spoken words.
“Then I had to tell him that you went to look for Phil that night, but nothing happened, and you were really mad when you saw Phil in school and he wasn't speaking to you. I would not do anything to jeopardize the friendship we have by coming between you and your dad."
“I didn't say you will do that.” I force a smile with just my lips. It fades faster than I wanted it to.
While she was speaking, I noticed that my dad's car keys were still in her hands.
