Lily's POV
The Loud Bangs
The entire day feels like a blur. Even after getting back into class, my mind never really returns with me.
Mr Pac teaches and other students seem to enjoy what's going on in the class but I don't even know why I'm sitting down here. It's as though I'm totally in the wrong place.
I just keep thinking about Helen, how I could get around to speak to her again. I remember how she looked back at me while she was being dragged away. I couldn't help to unsee the cruelty of what happened that night and then the files. Everything has just changed my life.
At some point, Mr Pac calls my name.
I blink. The entire class turns to look at me.
