Chapter 11

ASHINA After dinner, Tre and I went out for a drive. He bought me ice cream like he promised and when the night ended, he walked me to the guest room, kissed my cheek and said good night. I couldn't sleep and was tossing and turning all night. It was past two in the morning when I finally closed my eyes and fell asleep, only to wake up around half past six to get ready for today's outing. I showered quickly and wore a casual dress that sat just above my knees. I paired them with stilettos. I didn't do much with my face except for a light face cream, mascara and lipstick. When I opened the door, Tre was just about to knock with a tray of hot coffee and a couple of croissants. "Good morning, beautiful." I blushed. "Good morning, Alpha." Tre raised a brow and I smiled sheepishly. "Is that for me?" "For us. I figured we could have breakfast together while you're trying to prep." The glint in his eyes was telling me something more though. "Were you really trying to have breakfast with me or did you just want to see me naked?" "Both." He chuckled, and I burst out laughing while shaking my head. He was so honest... and comfortable with me. Soon we were off to the dress shop and. Tre opened the door for me, then we walked towards the front door with our hands intertwined. I glanced at our hands carefully, so he wouldn't notice it, but I felt his stare and when I looked up, his eyes were on me. Our gazes locked, and it was only interrupted when the manager of the shop greeted us. "Good morning, Alpha Holt, Ms. Alberty. I'm so glad you're here." The middle-aged lady looked elegant and kind. I haven't been to this store before, but based on the dresses on display, I'm going to be visiting more often. "Good morning, Ms. Lauren." I saw her nametag and I wanted her to be at ease with me. We're going to be here for at least an hour if I have to try the dresses anyway. Tre just acknowledged her with a nod while still holding my hand. Ms. Lauren was a werewolf, but I am not sure which pack she's from. The pack members have their own places and live in nearby townhouses and apartments, depending on their rank. Most of them anyway. Some still prefer to have them in the same compound where they can go for a run in the woods. Ms. Lauren showed us to our seats and Tre automatically draped his arm on my shoulder. His fingers lightly tapping as if there was a song playing. I glanced at him and he winked. How much more blushing can I take? But I did and when Ms. Lauren saw me, she had a teasing smile on. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt your moment. I just suddenly remembered my mate. We were so in love, just like the two of you." This time, I didn't look at Tre. We both knew we were not in love with each other. We are fated mates, but it's just the mate bond pulling us together. We are enjoying each other's company now though. And who knows, maybe it will lead to something more. I don't want to expect anything, because it leads to disappointments sometimes, and I don't want to ruin a good thing. "Are you still together? You don't have to answer that. Sorry, I didn't mean to pry." I smiled a little. I probably should not have asked her, but she was the one who brought up her mate. She shook her head. "No. He passed away in a car accident two years ago. I miss him, but we have two kids that serve as a reminder of our love." She cleared her throat and smiled sadly while composing herself. "I'm sorry to hear that, Ms. Lauren." She waved her hand and smiled. "No, it's okay. It's nice to see couples like you who adore each other. Goddess knows how a lot of people now are using each other for their own personal gains." A couple of women arrived with the dresses. "Tara and Sheryl will assist us today. I just wanted to let you know that I had a couple of customers who have booked their visit today and, sadly, their appointment cannot be rescheduled. I hope it's okay, Alpha." Tre nodded. "It's fine. Business is business. I appreciate that you were able to squeeze us in today." Ms. Lauren seemed pleased and the women started showing me the dresses. All I have to do is point to left or right. Left if I don't want it, and right if I want to try them on. "This is a ball gown with a full skirt and a fitted bodice. We have it in two different colors— silver and black." I glanced at Tre and he shook his head a little. He doesn't like it. "What's wrong with it?" I asked him. "Too puffy." He whispered in my ear. I pointed to the left and they started showing the next dresses. The one they are showing now is a white A-line dress with a classic silhouette that is fitted at the bodice and flares out from the waist in the shape of an A. This one is dark green. I pointed to the right without asking Tre for his opinion. I only asked for the ball gown because I wasn't sure if he liked those. I was not a fan of it anyway. "This one is a mermaid dress. It's a form-fitting style that hugs the body until the knees and then flares out into a dramatic skirt resembling a mermaid's tail." The color was dark blue with swarovski crystals. It looked very pretty. I pointed to the right. They showed me a few more dresses. I kept pointing to the left. They were pretty but just wasn't my style. I want to make an impression at the ball, especially because Tre's grandmother is attending. I don't want to be overdressed or underdressed. "An empire dress has a high waistline that sits just below the bust. This style of dress creates a flowing, romantic look. They are flattering on all body types and offer a regal appearance." "That's for pregnant women." Tre whispered in my ear. "We should get that for when you're pregnant with our pup." His words pregnant and pup in the same sentence sent a shiver down my spine. My c**t throbbed when he playfully placed a kiss on my shoulder. I gave Tre a warning look that he should behave himself, but he was in the mood for flirting. "We should make out in one of the change rooms." He whispered in my ear and my cheeks burned. He's going to be the death of me. We're in a shop in the middle of the day, and he's thinking about making out with me. I looked away and squeezed my thighs together. "I can smell your arousal, mate." I looked into his eyes and it was dark. Finn wanted to play and Foxy was too eager. Goddess, these two and adding Tre on the equation screamed danger. "Behave yourself and maybe you'll be rewarded." Tre frowned. His eye color was back to normal. "Now, which one would you like me to try on first?" I got up and reached for his hand. He looked cozy on the sofa, but he stood up and his arm circled my waist possessively. "The red one."
