Chapter ThirtyOnce the telephone conversation with Alan had ended, Agnes decided to go downstairs to the drawing room to finish reading her newspaper. As much as she loved her room with its wonderful views up and down the River Tyne, she didn't feel she could sit there all day. Besides, the domestic staff would be coming in shortly to tidy around and she would only be in the way. She had thought about sending Alan a text about who she had seen outside the park, but decided against it. She would rather tell him on the phone, or face to face. That way, she would witness his reaction to hearing how she had gone up to the park after he had told her to go straight back to the hotel!
