Chapter 1 Valentine's Day
"Karen, from the moment I met you, I knew you were the missing piece I needed.” A young handsome man said, his voice full of love, his eyes full of affection as he gazed at the beautiful woman before him. Kneeling on one knee and confessing his heart, with a bouquet of roses in one hand and a shining diamond ring in the other. “You are the sunshine that brightens my everyday, and I want to spend forever basking in your love Karen. I would like to spend forever creating our love story. Karen, Will you marry me?"
The crowd surrounding the soon-to-be couples went into an uproar, urging Karen to say yes. Who eventually did as the man slipped the ring into her finger and gives her a passionate kiss while the crowd cheered and clapped as took pictures of them.
Among the crowd is Alice. A 28years old woman. Cute and slightly chubby. She is one of the people videoing. How I wish someone could do that for me. Alice thought sadly with a sigh and walk out of the crowd.
Today is Valentine and there are more people in the park leading to Alice house. And those people are not just kids but also lovers and couples who are here to enjoy themselves and poor Alice is feeling lonely seeing all this because in her 28 years of being on this earth, she had never for once, have a boyfriend.
All she had her crushes, who she won't dare to confess her love to because of a trauma she has back then in her college times. Cute Alice was more chubby back then and has a crush on one of her seniors who are extremely handsome and a playboy. And the poor Alice who is always attracted to beauty and pretty things fell for him at first sight and always makes sure to see him in almost her everyday life.
In fact, she did not have the courage to go and confess her love to her crush and just prefer watching him from afar either among his friends or girlfriends since he is a playboy. And Alice was even more scared of confessing her love because of the girls surrounding him because they are more beautiful than her, and she would rather not feel ridiculed.
Then one day, Alice summoned her courage and decided to confess her love because of her friends who convinced and urge her to that she won't be ridiculed, but that was the greatest mistake she ever made in her life because she wasn't only ridiculed, she was also bullied and called different kind of names. She wanted to transfer to another school, but she couldn't because her parents we're not rich and was forced to finish her schooling there and endure their harsh and cruel words which greatly traumatized and shattered Alice courage for love and since then, Alice never confess her love and only have crushes to worsen it, no man has ever tried to flirt or woo her.
She has gone to the mountains to pray, went to the seaside to pray, climb the highest mountain in the town and even in the country to pray, just to have one man makes the first move on her. To flirt, not woo. Only to flirt with her, but No. Capital No. No man came to her. They all seemed to avoid her, and she had given up all possible hope to have a boyfriend, not to talk of husband. Maybe not in this life.
Sighing deeply, Alice reached for her keys in the bag and opened her apartment door. She goes straight to the fridge upon entering and opened it, take a plate of snacks out and started munching on it. This is the only thing that gives her comfort. Food and snacks.
Putting down the snacks on the dining table after stuffing her mouth full, she went to her bedroom, and started getting rid of her clothes intending to having a very refreshing long bath. Wrapping a towel around her body, she was about to enter the bathroom when she heard a knock on the door.
With a puzzled expression, Alice first reaction was to look at the clock. 9:30pm. Who on earth will knock on ones door at this time of night? Or..... Is it Elsa? That's girl has gone drinking again and want to be retired at her home?!. I will make sure to give her a good scolding.
Knock. Knock.
“Coming!.” Alice answered, walking towards the door. That girl! When next she does this again, I will make sure to kick her out. Alice thought but soon sighed, she knew she couldn't do it. She did not have the heart to kick her friend out and could only do that worst. Scold her. And she is excellent at that.
Opening the door, Alice opened her mouth and started scolding. “Elsa, seriously. The next time you......... Ah.” Alice scolding ends on a shriek which is immediately been muffled as she was pushed back into the house by a man in an overall black hoodie, who immediately closed the door and points a gun at her head telling her to shut up, or he would blow her brain out.
