Soft morning light spills across the room.
Logan stands in front of the mirror, getting ready for work.
She reaches for her earrings.
Stops.
Her mind drifts back to yesterday.
Kyle's hand.
His thumb brushing lightly across hers.
The fact that he had let go first.
A tiny smile appears.
She catches herself smiling.
LOGAN
Don't.
She shakes her head and puts on the earring.
Her phone BUZZES on the counter.
She looks at it.
A message from Kyle.
KYLE (TEXT)
Five fingers today?
Logan stares at the message.
Then laughs quietly.
She types.
LOGAN (TEXT)
Four.
A beat.
The reply comes almost immediately.
KYLE (TEXT)
Liar.
Logan smiles.
She puts the phone down.
Then picks it back up.
Types again.
LOGAN (TEXT)
Maybe.
She sends it.
For a moment, she simply stands there, looking at the screen.
There's something different about this.
Not dramatic.
Not frightening.
Just... easy.
Her phone BUZZES again.
KYLE (TEXT)
Have a good day, Logan.
She reads it twice.
Then types:
LOGAN (TEXT)
You too, Kyle.
She hesitates.
Adds:
LOGAN (TEXT)
And don't miss any more shots.
She sends it.
A smile spreads across her face.
CUT TO:
EXT. OFFICE BUILDING — MORNING
Logan steps out of her car.
She's composed again.
Professional.
Focused.
But as she walks toward the entrance, her phone BUZZES one more time.
She looks down.
KYLE (TEXT)
No promises.
She shakes her head, smiling.
Then she walks inside.
CUT TO BLACK.
