Jon put my bags down on the bed and I thanked him. I thought about putting my clothes away but it felt too awkward. I decided to walk around instead. I stopped in front of the corner window, mesmerized by the view before me. I could see the entire city and the hills and mountains of forest in the backdrop. It was truly lovely. I had stayed in nice places like this before but not in my own city, only while traveling. So this was a first for me. There had just never been a need to stay in a place like this, especially with my parents living so nearby.
