Chapter 82

1071 Words

"What? When?" My Mom half yelled. This was the first thing in my news that had upset her.  "Within the week." I said hesitantly. I had a lot of stuff to pack. I honestly wanted to move right away but the week was for my parents and for myself, to help us all adjust. "I know that seems sudden," I added, "but Jon and I love each other and we just want to be together." I finished.  My Dad finally looked up at me and his tear streaked face broke my heart.  "Dad!?" I said, upset to see him so upset. He had been through so much recently, maybe this was a mistake. Maybe I should wait a little longer, I thought, second guessing everything now.  My Dad took a few deep breaths to compose himself but his voice still cracked as he finally talked. "Lacey, I love you and I know you're a smart girl."
