Prologue
Ever since my dad died my life has been a living...you know what. Everyday I hope it's just a bad dream that I’ll wake up from, but it never happens. Before my dad died, everything was perfect. I had both of my parents, I was popular, and I was the captain of the cheerleading squad. I know what you're thinking: that I’m a spoiled brat and the mean girl in school.
Yes, it’s true that my parents had a good amount of money, but I was said to be the nicest person in school.
I went to church every Sunday, I did charity, I was nice and friends to everyone in school, I was the reason most people didn’t get bullied.
I totally hate my life now. My dad used to say that if you're alive then you have the best life ever, but I’m not really feeling that now.
I had to move to another state, get a new school, new house, new “Father”, new brother, new everything. The worst part about it is my mom wouldn’t let me take any photos of my dad. She said she didn’t want her “new husband” to feel like he had to see his wife’s ex-husband every day when he walked in the house.
I secretly packed them in my bag. We are now on a plane on our way to New York City. Our things are being driven to the new house from Texas.
If I would have known that I would be forced to get married to my step-brother I would have said I object when the time came. Oops, I’m getting ahead of myself, let’s continue.

Me and mom are in an Uber and she just can’t stop talking about her new husband, Zander Cane.
“I know you didn’t get to talk to him much the last time we came, but you’ll love him and his son."
We stayed in New York for a couple of days for the wedding, but we had to go back home to pack our things. Let's just say the last time I was here, it wasn’t so pleasant.
~flashback~
The music outside the bathroom door was booming. I just had to get out of there. We were at the wedding reception and it was very chaotic.
The whole room was filled with people I didn’t know; they were all friends and family of the Canes, of course. Since they were all rich and famous or whatever.
It was all so overwhelming and I needed a breather. All of a sudden, Nolan Cane barged into the bathroom (my mom’s husband’s son).
“Hey, what are you doing? I’m in here.” I yelled.
Nolan closed and locked the door behind him.
“Hey Nasme, I finally get to meet you. You're just as beautiful as your mother said”. Nolan said with a smirk on his face.
Nolan started to take steps toward me slowly and I walked back.
“What do you want?” I asked him.
I was slightly scared because he reminded me of his father.
“You” Nolan replied, laughing, moving closer and closer.
Soon I hit the wall and I couldn’t go back any further. Nolan rested both hands on the side of me, blocking my exit.
“What do you mean?” I asked, frightened.
“ I mean look at you, who wouldn’t want you. You have the perfect butt that any man would love to slap and, your boobs are a great size- nice and perky. You're petite but have curves in just the right places.”
“Sounds like you have been observing my body the whole night.” I said, shaking, looking down at my fashion nova heels.
“Not really when you can see everything. I mean the dress is like a second skin on you. It’s so tight. I bet other things are tight.”
I made a big gulp, not knowing what was going to happen next.
“My Mom will be looking for me. I should go.”
A few seconds passed before he removed himself from infront of me. Just as I was about to open the door, Nolan said
“It was nice to finally meet you, babygirl”
A shiver went down my spine and I hurriedly went out of the bathroom.
~End of flashback~
I’m sure not gonna be happy to see him. We finally pulled up to their building. Apparently, they had the whole top floor to themselves, which was the penthouse.
