Chapter IV

1945 Words
JENNIE'S POV I continued drinking in our hotel room. Jisoo isn't around at all. Maybe she needs time after what she saw and heard at the restaurant. Why do I feel like it is my entire fault again?   Jisoo doesn't need to suffer the same way I am suffering right now. I sigh in thinking about my friend crying but she needs time alone. I don't want to bug her not at least now, maybe?   So I should just text her instead.   Jisoo, are you sleeping at the hotel? Do you want me to wait for you? I'll be here if you want to talk about what happened. I hope you are alright. Sent 10:49 PM   I wanted to wait for Jisoo to come but she did not, not even a single reply to my message. Maybe she's sleeping somewhere. I know Jisoo, she won't do anything stupid. She's a grown-up woman now. But I hope she's not crying again. I feel sorry for her.   Lisa ...   The close encounter with Lisa a while ago made my heart want to jump out to my chest. I am glad I stayed firm and bold. I wanted to tell her that I miss her but the vision of her back at the airport gave me pain. But I won't let that affect me. Not anymore. I might be the reason we had a serious fight before but I regret all of those things and admit I was wrong. But she refused to accept it and did not even bother to listen to me at all. I know I can't blame her but knowing I did everything for her even risking my own damn life for her safety, but she chose to throw it all away. Now I need to save myself. ------- I woke up in the early morning and heard footsteps in the room. I found out that it was Jisoo sneaking inside our hotel room.   I picked up the pillow beside me and threw it to her.   "s**t!" she cussed.   "Sneaking out early in the morning?" I said to her while my arms are crossed. "A-h hi Jennie." She said raising her right arm. She's still wearing the same clothes from last night. Sneaky girl. She's acting weird and oh she doesn't look like she's sad and all. "Where have you been? You did not reply to my message." I interrogated her. "I was with Rosé." She said and lower down her head. "You what?" I said in disbelief. "I went to Rosé's condo last night .. we talked and we .. you know trying to fix things between us." She said honestly. "It's okay, right? I mean we can continue what we started before .." she explains to me. "Of course, Jisoo it is. You don't need to ask for my permission. I still feel bad about what happened to both of you. I still blame myself for what happened." I said sincerely to her. "No, Jennie don't blame yourself. It wasn't your fault or Lisa's. We broke up because it was our decision but at least now we are trying to put things back together." Jisoo said while smiling at me. "Well, I admit I didn't see that coming after what happened to the restaurant yesterday," I said honestly but I am really happy for them. "It is not too late to fix things, Jen. Why don't you talk to Lisa? Maybe you guys could still fix it too?" she said smiling at me like she's giving me hope. "Maybe for you, it is not yet too late to fix things but for us, it is." I said trying to force myself to give her a smile. "Lisa has a girlfriend. She already moved on and she's dating someone new now, they look really happy together. I don't want to ruin her relationship with her new girl." I sighed "Maybe not every love story has a happy ending." I added as I turned my back to Jisoo to go to the kitchen.   "What do you want for breakfast?" I said changing the subject. "I'm sorry." Jisoo muttered and hug me from behind. "Don't say sorry. All I need to do now is to move on since Lisa already did." I said softly.   LISA'S POV My head still hurts and when I woke up I saw Rosé at the couch with her legs cross watching me as I sleep. "Why are you here?" I asked her rudely. "Can't you be any ruder than that, Manoban?" she said to me as expected. "Jisoo and I talked last night." She said without even a cue. "You talked to Jisoo?" I said not believing her as I rub my eyes. "But what happened to Chanyeol? I thought you want to know him more? And you are about to move on, what happened?" I asked her again still not believing what she just said.   "Aren't you happy for me? Jisoo and I are trying to fix things together. We are getting back together. I guess?" She said happily. A big smile is plastered on my friend's face.   The happiness flows in her, her eyes glow and she really looks so happy. I want my chipmunk to be this happy and I wasn't wrong that it only takes Jisoo to make her this happy.   "I am happy for you, Unnie. I know true love really comes back. And you have yours now." I said as I hug her.   "But how about you?" she asked me. "What about me?" I asked her confusedly. "You and Jennie." She said briefly. I step back. "Rosé, you know I have a girlfriend already.." I told her. "And Jennie and I .. I think .. it is impossible." I said to her. Well, technically I did not lie. When Jennie and I talked last night, she was really so cold b***h to me. It feels like we are back at being strangers. She did not even bother to look at me while I am secretly admiring her ... as always. She can walk away from me just like that.   Just like that.   While Rosé and I talking about her and Jisoo my phone suddenly rang. "Hello, dad?" I answered my phone. "Okay, dad. We'll be there in an hour or two. Thank you." I said then hung up. "We need to go to the company. Our parents are already there. Dad told me that your dad is trying to contact you. Where is your phone?" I asked Chae. "Oh. I might have left it in my car. Why do they want to see us?" Rosé asked me. "I really don't know. They said we need to meet someone. Might be another business partner?" I said and started to walk to the bathroom to take a shower.   After an hour of fixing myself and while Rosé talking to someone over the phone which I assume is Jisoo because Chae is using her 'flirty' voice. Lmao, my chipmunk is back at it. I'm really happy for her.   "Hey flirt, let's go now," I said and threw a pillow at her face.   "LISA!" she shouted at me. "It is rude to shout when you are flirting with someone over the phone, bitch." I hissed at her and she tried to chase me but thanks to these long legs I could run away from her easily.   We are already in the car and Mr. Tang is driving us to the company.   "So, are you guys like official now?" I asked her while she's busy texting her girl. "Uhm not yet." She answered not bother looking back at me. Aish this girl. "Lisa." Rosé blurted out. I hummed as a response. "I think I know why our fathers want to see us." She said to me. "Why?" I asked her clueless.   "Kim's Empire."   With that. My body became cold and suddenly I feel nervous. "You are joking right?" I said hoping she really is. "I'm afraid that I'm not." She said. Rosé and I are already inside the building. We took the elevator through the 23rd floor of the building.   "Nervous?" Rosé blurted out. "No." I said lying. "Sure?" she questioned me again. "Aren't you?" I asked her back. "No. I am actually happy. At least I got a chance to see Jisoo today. What a great day to start." She said with a big smile plastered on her face.   What the f**k is going to happen.   *Ting*   And the elevator opened.   Things became slow motion. The employees bowed their heads as usual. We walked effortlessly to the conference room where they said they'll meet us. My assistant opened the door for us and it reveals four old men inside the room my father and Rosé's of course and the other two are none other than Jennie and Jisoo's father. On the other side, there are two women sitting elegantly. The other one looks in our direction and it was Jisoo.   Rosé immediately sits to her side and they hug each other. I was left in the entrance alone.   The other girl looks at me. It was her.   It was .. Jennie.   I tried to smile at her but she only gave me a poker face. There's no emotion at all compare to Jisoo who is smiling from ear to ear. Not in my company, girl. Everything was still in slow motion when my father talked. "Lisa, sit beside Jennie." He ordered and I followed. As soon as I was seated I asked my father. "What is this all about dad?" "Well, Kim's daughters are back here in Korea after a long 6 years in being in Australia. You guys are friends right?" he said smiling at me.   "That was a long time ago, dad." I said. Well, I did not lie. My father had a look on his face but it fades away immediately when someone talked. "Our daughters are going to the event too, Lisa. It would be a good catch up for an old friend." Mr. Kim said the father of Jennie. "We are trying to put some business with Mr. Manoban and Mr. Park and we think it is good that our daughters become friends too. That's the secret of a good business, right?" Mr. Kim father of Jisoo blurted out. "Of course, it is! That's why we want you guys to be friends with each other. It won't be hard since you know each other already right?" it is time for Mr. Park to talk. "That won't be a problem dad!" Rosé said happily. Then Jisoo smiled at her. I look at Rosé mouthing "Seriously, Chaeng?" but she chose to ignore me. Alright, this b***h is also getting in my nerve. I rolled my eyes.   "We can have a partnership without being friends, right Jennie?" I tried to talk but as soon as I realized what I just said I gulped and blink several times knowing their eyes are all on me now. You are dead Lisa.   "Yes. I think she's right, dad." To my surprise, Jennie agreed to me and she smiled at me. I reciprocated her smile, the other two girls are just watching us.   But when she talked again.   "We don't need to be friends because we are already friends. Nothing change that much. We are still the students' that hangouts a lot and doing sleepovers, right Lisa?" she said smiling at me while her fingers tapping the table.   Now I wonder what is going on inside her head.   What the f**k is wrong with her?   What are you planning, Jennie? This doesn't sound good at all.   I'm on a dead-end.
