Bloody Marriage

SOPHIE'S POV: My name is Persophonie Duval, 19 years of existence. Yes, 19. 19 but was expected to marry a guy I don't even know. I went down to eat breakfast as mom greeted me. I think I know what she wants. "Sweetie? Do you want me to drive you to school?" She asked with a warm smile. "No need mommy..." I said, emphasizing the word mommy. "I can drive myself to school." "Well, do you wanna have lunch out later?" I stopped walking and took a deep sigh as I faced her, "Mom, you know I love you so much but even how much you try, I won't marry a guy!" "Why not? This kid is nice and sweet." She defended. Or is he? I rolled my eyes as I continued to walk. "I don't even know his name." She stopped her track, "Luke.." I looked back, "Excuse me?" Somehow, it sounded familiar. "It's Luke. Now that you know his name, would you marry him?" "No!" "And why not? He's handsome alright." She winked. I looked at her deep blue eyes, "Then why don't you marry him, mom?" She gasped. I laughed a bit. I took it as a chance to hurry downstairs. "I'm eating out! Bye!" The housemaids bowed as I ran past them. Bowing lightly in return. "Ms. Duval, should I escort you out?" One of the housemaids asked. "No. But thank you.." I smiled. I drive myself to school. ~ I parked my car and went inside the building. As I walked in the hallway, I could feel the stares burning. "Hey, Sophie!" The leader of the cheerleader's team greeted me. I only smiled at her and went straight to my locker, to drop some things. Not to be rude or anything, but I know she's faking it. The PA system rang signaling someone was about to make an announcement. All the graduating students, after classes this afternoon, gather around the gymnasium for announcements. Thank you and have a good day. I looked at my wristwatch before dropping the things that I wouldn't be needing for my first class in my locker and closed it. "Hi!" I gasped, "You scared me!" She giggled, "You seem to be stressed. The exams haven't even started yet." Trisha laughed. Trisha Hane is the only person I have ever considered my best friend. We have known each other since we were 6. She's very pretty with brown hair and brown eyes. I sighed, "I'll tell you later. Let's just go." I grabbed her hand and dragged her to our classroom. An unusual sight caught both of our eyes. In the other corner are girls gossiping loudly? On the other side of the room are flirting. There were also jocks talking, sitting on the tables while playing with balls. The exams are in three weeks but none of the students look bothered. I huffed a laugh. After a while, our Advanced Literature teacher came in. We stood up and greeted her. She nodded at us, "Okay students, get your book and open it on page 74." She scanned the room and it stopped at Hanna. She approached her. We looked at Hanna who was literally next to me. "Yes, Mrs. Hordes?" Mrs. Hordes smiled lightly, "Can you stand up, Ms. Williams." Hanna stood up slowly. Mrs. Hordes pulled down Hanna's skirt and slowly buttoned up her blouse too. "Ms. Williams, you do know that this is a school and not a nightclub, right?" Hanna nodded. Mrs. Hordes clasped her hand, "Very well. You can sit back down. We'll be starting our class." ~ After Mrs. Hordes' lesson, she gave us a little quiz. Hanna tried to lean on my side. "Hey, Sophie! What's the answer to-.." I stood up to pass my paper. She groaned, "No, wait! Sophie!" She exclaimed/ whispered. "Ms. Williams, one more and you're going straight to the headmistress' office." The teacher said. As soon as I passed my paper, Trisha followed next. Since we're both done, we can now go out. We went to the lady's room. "Hey S, guess who I'm portraying." She grinned before facing her back to me. She faced me again but this time, her upper buttons were opened and her skirt was pulled up. I laughed at her. It was too obvious. "T, you look like a slut." She fixed herself and we went to the cafeteria. As soon as we had our food, we took a seat. I should tell her. "Hey T. When I tell you this, don't freak out, okay?" She nodded. I sighed, "I am forced into marriage." She laughed. As soon as she saw my serious face, her smile slowly went down. "You're kidding, right?" I shook my head, "No." Her eyes widened. "Mr. and Mrs. Duval agreed to this?" I nodded. She came near me and hugged me, "Whoever is the guy you're going to marry, he is very lucky." I smiled and hugged back, "Thank you." ~ Today's classes ended. Stretching my arms out, I sighed in relief. I and Trisha now proceeded to the gymnasium because as said. At the same time, the headmistress went in, "Okay, everybody, please settle down." She waited for everybody to sit down before speaking again. "Most of you know that Maine Delware and Southchester University had a joint contract and partnership this year. It has been our greatest honor to work with one of the biggest universities in this city and so it has to them. We have decided to have a joint graduation event and a school ball for all of you." Everybody cheered and clapped. "The graduating students from Southchester University will be joining us starting tomorrow and I am hoping you will treat them well." I can hear murmurs from everywhere. "S, I heard there's a lot of hot students there." She grinned at me. "Really?" I grinned back. "I guess we should thank the joint partnership for that." We both laughed. As soon as the announcements were done, students started rushing out, making me lose sight of Trisha. I was walking carelessly. Someone was running and I was hit on his shoulder. Causing me to fall..well almost. I closed my eyes tight, getting ready to feel the hard surface of the tiles. But instead, a warm masculine arm wrapped around me. Preventing me from falling. I opened my eyes and saw Tyler Dawson. I blushed and stood up straight, "I'm so sorry." He shook his head. "No, it's my fault for running. I'm sorry." I smiled, "thank you." "Don't mention it." He winked at me before walking away. "Ooh, I saw that! A jealous friend here." Trisha came running and hugged me. Yes, Trisha likes him. I don't like him, okay. I blushed not because I like him. I blushed because I was embarrassed. Trisha knows that, so she knows she has no reason to get mad. "He's so nice," I told her. She nodded with a grin. "I know! And also very dreamy." I swear I saw the heart in her eyes. This day isn't so bad after all. ~ Okay, it's not as good as I thought it would be. First, they told me I'd be meeting this Luke guy on Sunday. Second, I didn't even agree with this. Third, this guy is also a graduating student, so after both of us graduate they will fix the marriage and we should be married as much as possible. Why. Why are they in a hurry? I'm too young, okay? How are they expecting me to like the guy in just one meeting? This bloody marriage is slowly ruining my life!
