SOPHIE’S POV:
“So, Biology test tomorrow.” Trisha reminded as I closed my locker after taking all my stuff.
I sighed, “Yeah.” I looked at her and she gave me this ‘I-don’t-wanna-study’ look. I just gave her a shrug and we started walking.
On our way to the parking lot, we met Tyler. “Hey ladies.” He greeted. “Soph, I heard my parents and Jey are going to your house later.”
I blinked at him, “Really? I wasn’t aware. What about you?”
Tyler clicked his tongue, “I have to study for the test tomorrow.” Right. But how come Luke is coming.
“And Luke doesn’t study?” The three of us laughed and continued talking. We had to part ways because our cars were parked in different areas. Trisha’s parents finally allowed her to bring her car to school so she didn’t need a lift anymore. And as of Luke, the last time I saw him was during lunchtime and I haven’t seen him since then.
I rode my car back home and spotted two more cars. Oh, that must be them. By the doorway was Luke with his arms crossed. He rose his brow at me, “I thought you were home already? I went to your classroom and you weren’t there.”
“Well, I and Trisha had to run some errands for a teacher and grabbed our stuff from the locker. We also had a little chat with Tyler.”
He nodded and opened the door for me.
“Sophie! Hi! How have you been?” Mrs. Dawson came walking to me with open arms so I hugged her and said, “Hello Mrs. Dawson.”
She pulled away and glared at Luke. “Was Tyler and Luke a pain in your ass while we were away?”
I laughed a bit, “Oh no, they behaved very well.” We continued talking.
~
“Study? Do I really have to?” Luke whined.
Okay, so here he is. Whining like an immature kid.
“Your mom told me we should study because Tyler mentioned to her that we have a test. So yes, Luke, study.”
“I don’t need to study.” He slumped his body to my bed as I stayed standing. I’ve seen his grades and he’s actually doing pretty well but how? I wish I can be as good as him without having to do much.
I sighed, hands on my hips. “Come on Luke, stop acting like a kid.”
“Not a kid.” He glared.
I chuckled and an idea suddenly popped in my head. “Then would you rather play tea with Sophia and Flora? They would really need some company.”
He answered without second thoughts. He sat up and walked to my table. “Biology, right?”
I laughed as he pulled a chair for me to sit.

LUKE'S POV:
I only agreed to study so I wouldn’t have play tea with Brianna…but I also didn't say I would listen to her.
“So the mitochondria is the main source of energy of each cell and is known to be the powerhouse of the cell…”
I just stare at her and kept nodding whenever I feel like I need to. Trying to look like I was listening.
“The process for converting raw nutrient…” Haven't noticed her eyes is a deep shade of blue. I never actually focused with her features but I have to admit, she's-…“Luke. Luke." She snapped her finger in front of me.
Did I just space out? “What?”
She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “What is the mitochondria?” She pointed.
The powerhouse of the cell. “Ah, mitochondria. It’s a…what is it again?” I love to tease her although I know the answer.
Now she looks pissed. She glared at me so I crossed my arm and shrugged. “Luke, can you please pay attention. I have been talking here and none of it even made it in your brain. Just tell me if I’m wasting my time. I can study alone."
“Dude chill. I’m kidding. It’s the powerhouse of the cell.”
She was shocked and her cheeks turned red. “You were listening.”
I nodded and examined the room. “Can we take a break?”
She glared at me, "It barely took us an hour.” After a while, she finally agreed. “Fine.”
I stood and waited for her to stand up too but she only looked at me. “What are you still doing here?”
“I said we. Not me.”
She turned back to the book. “You go ahead and take your break.” This girl and her books. Can't she take a break?
“Oh come on. Just at least 5 minutes of break.”
“Just go.” She signaled me to go.
I frowned, “Fine, then I’ll stay here too. I’ll be watching you.” I sat on her bed.
She shook her head, “At least read a book while you’re at it.” She handed me a Biology book.
Nope. “Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Go, study.”
I opened the book. It’s full of bright colors but there’s a lot in just one picture. I looked at her. She was reading the same book, but how can she be so calm and…well…not bored? I closed the book slowly and continued looking at her while she reads.
She pouted her mouth. I think it was a habit of hers when she’s paying attention. I always see her doing that.
In a typical Luke mood, I stood up and explored her room, trying to gain her attention.
I scoffed. “Ehem.” She didn’t bother looking at me, not even a glance. I rolled my eyes. I stood at her side and scoffed again…still nothing..
I saw her phone on the table so I grabbed it without permission, hoping that’ll trigger her. Still nope.
Instead, I took a picture of her while studying. I put her phone on her bed and continued my stroll. I decided to drop the books. So I did. “My bad.”
She glared at me. “Are you ready to study now, Luke since you've been trying to get my attention?”
I shrugged, "It was an accident. Trust me…” I picked it up and put it back.
She rose a brow but soon giggled, “Fine. Do you want something to eat?”
Yes. “Sure, I guess.” I actually am hungry.
“Then come on. I’ll cook something.”
As we went out, Brianna came running towards us but soon dropped to her knee. I almost laughed but tried not to because Sophie looked really worried.
“Sissy, my knee hurts.” She cried.
“Sweetie don’t cry. It’s gonna be okay, come on, let’s get some ice. ” She touched Brianna’s knee as it drew a bruise.
This should be worth it. I knelt in front of Brianna. “Hey kid, Sophie’s cooking something. Why don’t I help you put ice on your bruise and take Flora with you so you can eat together? Sounds good?"
She grinned at me and nodded, “Flora’s in my room. Will you help me get it?”
Shit. “Of course.” She pointed grabbed my hand and pulled me.
I winked at Sophie before walking.

SOPHIE'S POV:
I cooked mashed potato with gravy sauce and strawberries dipped in chocolate.
After a while, Luke came back with Brianna sitting on his neck. I laughed because Luke was wearing one of Brianna’s summer hats.
“Sissy! Look, I’m taller than you!" She laughed, “Luke told me to tell you that.”
I glared at him and he only gave me a wink.
“Brianna, get down. That guy is mean.” I lend my hand for her.
“No!” She hugged Luke’s head. “Lukey is amazing.”
I frowned, “Did he tell you that too?”
She grinned, “Nopey. Flora did.”
“See, even your sister and her dolly admitted that I’m amazing.” He said and slowly put Brianna on the ground.
“Whatever.” I bended my knee to reach Brianna’s level. “Lukey here would love to have tea with you and Flora.” I smirked at him.
His eyes widened, “Oh hell no.”
I looked at him with caution, “She’s six!” I mouthed.
He shrugged and turned to Brianna, “Kid. I’m too old to play that.”
She frowned and ran off. “You only wanted my sister!”
I tried to hold a giggle as he glared at me and I continued setting up the table. “Look what you’ve done. Why won’t you play with my sister?”
“Because no! I already watched her change her dolls clothes and hell I had to wear this hat! I don’t want to play tea and dress up like a maid and pretend I enjoyed it. That would be a complete lie." He took off the hat and placed it on the table.
I shook my head, “Like you care about lying.”
“Depends on the situation. But hell no, I’m not playing tea.”
I bit my lip. Placing the strawberries on a bowl. “Stop cursing in front of my sister. She’s six and she might get new words from you and that is not a good word.”
“I can’t help it. It’s in my nature.”
I snapped my head at him, “See, you don’t even care about kids discovering bad things. Why would you care about lying?”
“Do you need any help?” He changed the topic.
“Just shut up and get lost.”
“…don’t want to.”
I rolled my eyes at him and didn’t bother talking again.
