SOPHIE’S POV:
I can’t believe I didn’t notice Luke’s face. You can see the close resemblance. And when he said I’ve changed, I should’ve gotten the clue. Although I didn’t really remember the boy’s name before.
“All done, S.” Trisha told me as she finished drying her hair.
I nodded, “Okay, let’s head down so we can eat.”
“What about the boys?”
My cheeks suddenly felt warm, remembering last night, “What about them?”
She gave me a suspicious look, “Shouldn’t we tell them that breakfast is ready?”
“Y-you can tell them. I’ll head down first.” I don’t know how to face Luke after last night. Everything’s gonna change, and the fact that I hugged him without thinking.
“Okay, what’s up?” Trisha cut off my thoughts. “There’s a lot that you don’t tell me.”
I looked over at her as she sat on my bed next to me. “I-…You remember the guy I told you about from when I was kidn*pped?” Her face softened but nodded. “Turns out he’s Luke.”
Her eyes widened, “Luke? Like, Luke Dawson? Jeyden Luke Dawson?” I nodded at her, giggling at her reaction. “As in, your fiancé?” I nodded again. She finally calmed down. “How does that make you feel?”
I shrugged, “I don’t really know. Although I’m glad I finally found him and all this time he’s just right under my nose.” I laughed and she laughed with me.
“Wait, but how did you know?”
“I went out to grab some milk last night because I couldn’t sleep and he went to get some water too. We got the talking and blah blah blah. He recognized me the first time and I feel stupid for not recognizing him.”
“Well, he was a jerk when we first met him, so…” She grinned.
I stick out my tongue at her. “Whatever, yeah, let’s go get them.” We walked out my room. “You go tell Tyler. I’ll get Luke.” She nodded so she went to the room right next to my sister and I went for the door right in front of my room.
I knocked but no one answer. I knocked again and still no answer. Is he still sleeping? I slowly opened a door revealing Luke grabbing his bag.
“Hey, sorry I had to barge in. I knocked twice, you didn’t answer. I thought you were still slee…p-ping.” He faced me and it showed that he hasn’t buttoned his polo yet. I immediately blushed and looked the other side.
I can sense that he was smirking, “I knew it was you so I didn’t bother.”
Come on, Sophie. You’ve seen him shirtless before. Get it out of your system. I gulped. “I-I just wanna tell you t-that breakfast is ready.”
He gave out a low chuckle, “I’ll be down in a minute, Cherry.”
There goes the Cherry again, never failing to flutter my heart. He’s such a jerk. I didn’t bother answering and closed the door, going downstairs.
My heart was beating so fast and I feel hot. Damn that Luke.
I see no Trisha. I sighed. I told him to just tell him breakfast is ready, she didn’t have to go all the way in his room. Please tell me they’re not doing it.
I sat on my chair and opened my phone, waiting for them. 06:48, the clock says. They better hurry up or all these waking up early goes nothing.
After a while, someone sat next to me. I looked up and saw Luke. “Hi again, Cherry.”
Yup, still a jerk. I answered him a plain, “hi,” and continued scrolling through my phone. Someone suddenly took it from my hand. “Luke what are you doing?” He clicked the camera icon in i********: and put his arm on the table in front of us.
“Smile, Soph.” He said so I did and he took the photo, tagged him and instantly posted it on my story.
I gasped and he gave me my phone, “You know, your girls will come after me if they see this.”
He shrugged, “So will your guys and I’ll be very much willing to take them away from your life.” He speak so plainly but that made my heart flutter. He looked around, “Where’s Tyler and Trisha?”
“They’re probably doing it in his room. It’s been five minutes after I told her to tell Tyler that food’s ready.”
Luke grinned, “Score.”
I gave him a disgusted look, “You’re disgusting.” I proceeded to eat my breakfast while he laughed and did the same.
After another 10 minutes, Trisha and Tyler finally showed up looking all red while me and Luke was done with our food.
Luke stood up, “You two had a good morning?” He teased, grabbed his bag and walked away.
I laughed and walked away, stopping midway. “Trish, you missed a button.” I started running, “I’ll see you guys at school. Bye!” I know Trisha will ride with Tyler so there’s no point on waiting.
I was about to open my car when someone honked behind me, “Hop in.” Luke shouted.
Sticking my tongue out, I said a quick, “no,” before opening my car and getting in. Luke drove away first and I followed behind.
Luke was already parked and was waiting outside his car when I arrived, so I parked my car beside him. He opened the door for me, “Well hello, babe.”
I huffed a laugh, “What is wrong with you today?” He’s being very extra. “Get lost Luke.” I went out my car.
“At least call me babe too, you’re marrying me anyways.” He smirked.
“I’m not marrying you.” I said and was about to walk away but he blocked me.
“You promised me ever since we were kids.”
I took a step back. “You weren’t a jerk before.”
“You still promised. Stick with it.” He winked and left me.
Jerk.
