TWENTY FIVE STEVE RETURNED solemnly to his house. The place showed no signs of trouble, but he needed to check everywhere, now that they would be coming for him. He overturned his bed. Beneath it, sunk into the floorboards, was a steel safe. He dialed in the combination. Inside the little safe he retrieved that wristwatch given to him by the President but never worn. He picked up a tiny syringe with black sparkling liquid inside of it. Once he examined the watch, he realized that he could fit the needle inside it if he just broke off most of the metal tip.
