2020 A.R.(After Rejection)

"Don” Violet called as she shook his shoulder. He stood there like a statue and continued to look at me, as if still in shock. Violet furrowed her brows and looked to me as we made eye contact. When realization had hit her, she shoved him harder, “Don!” Lyndon blinked a few times then broke away from his trance, “I-yes violet?”"Don” Violet called as she shook his shoulder. He stood there like a statue and continued to look at me, as if still in shock. Violet furrowed her brows and looked to me as we made eye contact. When realization had hit her, she shoved him harder, “Don!” Lyndon blinked a few times then broke away from his trance, “I-yes violet?” My wolf howled in excitement at the sound of his voice. It was husky and sharp. It held power and he sounded older than an eighteen year old.  Violet looked to me as if she hadn’t already caught the gist of what was going on, "Who is this?"  She almost hissed like the snake she was. 'HIS MATE', my wolf growled as the sense of goriness grew within the both of us.  Something didn’t feel right about the current events or what was about to happen. I cleared my throat, “I-“ "-No one" he cut me off before completely turning so that his back was to me and facing her. At that moment was when I’d realized what was exactly about to happen and why my insides suddenly felt all knotty. Oh no. Violet wrapped her arms around him still looking to me, who was now blinking rapidly.  There was a pause, with me just standing there and the two of them in one another’s arms. "Is there a reason why you’re still standing here?" she said aloud, capturing the attention of bystanders. I was beginning to wonder the same thing, but my body was stuck. It wouldn’t allow me to move.  My fists clenched and my claws pierced through my hands. 'Who the f**k is this? And why are you letting her touch him!' My wolf was upset now. By this point, I would assume that my eyes had taken on their supernatural color. I looked to my mate who was, once again, facing me.  When one’s mate was becoming unhinged, common sense would be to calm her down to better the situation, but like I said- my mate lacked said sense.  "Don do you know her?" she asked turning to my mate with her chin grazing over his shoulder. I looked away in an attempt to cool my eyes and claws, Calm down Ava. Lyndon brushed Violet off of his shoulder and shook her arms from around his waist. "She's my mate" he said to Violet causing a series of gasps and whispers to erupt from the nosy bystanders.  My brows furrowed with our eyes now locked.  Violets face scrunched up in anger as she looked to Lyndon, as if in disbelief that he would accept me.  "What's your name?" he asked ignoring her gaze. My heart skipped a beat with the sense of gory still sitting in my subconscious.  "Avalon" I spoke with suspicious eyes, "Avalon Winters" I finally answered. Ava, maybe it’s just your nerves.  "I, Lyndon Young reject you, Avalon Winters as my mate" he smoothly said. Menstrual cramps couldn’t even come close to the pain my body felt at the sound of those words.  Not only was I being rejected by my mate, but I was being rejected in front of others and his popular b***h. It was as if I’d just tripped over a crack in the pavement in front of a line of cars.  Some giggles and laughs erupted from the bystanders and I could see the smirk tugging harshly at Violets lips. My wolf’s cry echoed within my brain and rage began to mix with the hurt like an explosive chemical combination. Oh f**k no. They really think I’m about to go out like this? The shock kept me grounded as I stood there trying to figure out my next move. As much as I wanted to, I was not about to crumble in front of all these people.  My claws were out again and before I could stop myself,  my body raised its hand and slapped him. Yes. I, Avalon Winters, just slapped the f**k out of Alpha Lyndon Young.  Was it a bad idea? Yes. Was it enough? Unfortunately no. You know how when people get really upset, they see red? Well I saw f*****g crimson. He didn’t feel enough pain. Because of this, I decided to make a really poor, in the moment, life decision.  While everyone sat in the cafeteria picking their jaws up off the floor, I ran out into the parking lot and found his car. To make a long story short, that 2020 Chrome Range Rover didn’t look the same when I was done with her. After assaulting his vehicle, I ran in wolf form into the forest allowing my wolf to release her anger. 'He didn't want us Ava" My wolf took total control as the rejection replayed in my head. Violets stupid f*****g smirk, Lyndon’s inability to accept me, and everyone being in my f*****g business. We stopped to catch water from the lake, I dug my claws into the ground and laid my head on top of my soft white fur.  As I lye there, the scene, again , rang through my head causing my wolf to whimper. Familiar tears streamed my fur and I allowed them to.  No matter how much I choked, hiccuped, or attempted to swallow the growing lumps in my throat, I couldn’t bring my tears to a halt. By the time I’d finished hating myself, I shifted back and headed home. Upon final decision, I decided on not telling my parents about my rejection or how I f****d up the Alphas car. Firstly because, I’d rather not share the most humiliating day of my life and secondly, because they would kill me if they knew what I did. I snuck into my house through the back door near the kitchen where I was suddenly snatched into a tight hold. "Where have you been?! I was worried sick about you!" Trina whispered aloud. "Why are you-", I questioned with furrowed brows,  whilst hugging her back. "Shh... follow me" Trina said grabbing my hand before turning around. "What? Trina this is my house. I think I know wher-" again I was interrupted, but this time it was by my mom who came in wearing her yellow sundress and her black heels clicking away. When I looked at my mother, she glared followed by a sarcastic chuckle.  "Really?”, Her heels clicked as she made her way towards me and snatched me from Trina, “Are you f*****g serious Ava?!” She, too, was now whispering aloud, ”Do you realize that what you’ve done can ruin this family? Are you insane?!” 'How did she know already?' I thought.  And why is everyone whispering?! My brows remained furrowed as the  familiar scent met my nose once again... Ava, you’re f****d.
