SABRINA POV:
"I think you look lovely, Sabrina.." Valerie's eyes welled up with tears as she saw me step out of the stall for the last time in a baby blue ball gown, "Oh my word..."
Samantha beamed from ear to ear and Jolene's little self rushed into my arms.
"You look like the most beautiful princess I've ever seen!"
"Do you think the guys will like it?"
Valerie nodded, "Oh, honey, they're going to love it."
Samantha stepped forward, "Flats and pearls. I will place the Queen Anne's Lace in your hair once I've curled the ends. Do you want makeup?"
"No, I don't really like it.." I blushed, "Makes me break out anyway."
"She definitely doesn't need it," Valerie smiled, "And a little sheer, blue shawl."
I felt special and pretty. I couldn't believe this was me, standing here in the finest dress shop in town with Valerie Calhoun and others associated wih them. They felt like—family...
"Tomorrow is the party so we will not be showing the boys this wonderful masterpiece until you come down those stairs!"
"Thank you so much for everything," I said, my voice cracking, missing my mother, "Just..thank you."
AUTHOR'S—THIRD PERSON POV:
"You're not f*****g coming," Q said, angrily.
"We're invited, dip s**t," Xander said, "She's your date."
Quinn figured his brothers would be invited to Molly's party, but he was hoping they could at least drive alone.
"Why? We're taking the silver Rolls," Hudson said, "She'll feel like a princess and we're her princes."
"She's our Queen, you dolt," Xander countered.
Sebastian sighed, "Can you guys knock it the f**k off? It isn't prom."
"She didn't even go to prom.." Q said, sadly, "And not everyone knows what or who she is. That's good and bad for her. We're doomed either way."
"I should have asked her," Hudson said, regretfully, "I wish she could have gone..."
"Well, she didn't so we're going to make it up to her," Xander said, picking out his tie, "We're going to make it up to her for the rest of her life."
SABRINA POV:
"I am nervous,"I said as Samantha placed the little crown of wispy Queen Anne's Lace throughout my hair, "What if I fall or embarrass them?"
"Miss Sabrina,-"
"Please, please just call me Sabrina," I begged, already feeling like I knew her for my entire life. I'd even had the privilege of looking after Jolene and having coffee with Sam's husband, Bear, and he was the quietest giant I'd ever met, "I truly appreciate you doing what you need to do to keep your employer happy, but it would make me feel less awkward if you'd just called me Sabrina. Miss doesn't sound like you're my friend—it sounds forced."
Samantha smiled at me, "As you wish, Sabrina."
"Thank you," I said, smiling back at her in my vanity mirror as Valerie looked on. She didn't comment on my complaint, but she looked happy about it, almost proud.
"Well, we're done!" Samantha and Jolene beamed as I stood in front of the large wall-length mirror and stared at myself in awe.
"Wow.." I said, "You all did such a great job."
Valerie laughed.
"Honey, you're the one who looks absolutely beautiful!" She put an arm around me, "Are you comfortable in it?" She asked, referring to my bold display of cleavage.
"Oh, yes.."I blushed, "And thank you for the jewelry."
"Those belonged to my grandmother," Valerie said to me.
"Oh, no! I mustn't,-"
"Yes, I insist!"
Once adorned, I was even more-so taken with the fact that my gown had pockets.
"I might have to wear it while housekeeping!" I joked, but my face fell.
"Honey, the Mueller's shouldn't be there at all. I talked to James's parents, Cindy and Dev, and they said they wouldn't be there. My boys won't let anything happen to you," Valerie assured me.
"I think we're ready!" Valerie said as she received a text from David, "The hubby said the boys are waiting for you."
"I'm..." I took one more look at myself, "I'm..."
"You'll be wonderful because you already are, my dear," Valerie said as she handed me the shawl. I put it on and breathed in deeply, making my way into my flats and down the corridor.
"Watch me fall down these stairs," I joked as Samantha rolled her eyes, playfully.
"You're not giving yourself enough credit."
"Thanks for everything, Sam."
"Anything for my Queen."
AUTHOR'S—THIRD PERSON POV:
The Quads were impeccably handsome in their suits as David took some pictures, even ones that were ridiculous.
"I just had to father four crazy sons, didn't I?" David shook his head, "You know, I was like you,-"
"Yeah..." Hudson said, as he waved Quinn out of the way and stared up the staircase.
"Oh gods..." Q swallowed.
"My...mate..." Xander whispered.
"Cupcake..." Sebastian smiled.
"Gentlemen! The lovely Sabrina Brewster!" Valerie said as she, Jolene and Samantha followed behind her.
"She's beautiful.." Sebastian whispered.
"My word..." Clive said as he and Cheryl popped out of the kitchen, even David's mouth had dropped open.
"I want her," Hudson licked his lips.
"I can smell her," Q said, "Gods this is killing me."
Xander smiled, his eyes narrowing, "That woman is going to make some gorgeous pups."
"You guys are insatiable," Maggie whispered.
"I'm sorry if my d**k won't stop moving when she's near me.."
"Xander Lee..." David scolded.
"Sorry..."
Quinn stepped forward and breathed in deeply as Sabrina hit the last step.
"You—you look absolutely stunning," He said, looping his arm with hers.
"Thank you," She looked around at the Quads, "All of you look so dashing."
Thank yous were lost to the winds as they kept staring at their mate—their future—the mother of their pups...
"Alright! Picture, please?" Valerie said, "Sabrina, can you stand in the middle..."
SABRINA'S POV:
I couldn't believe this was happening to me.
I was going to a party—albeit at my rival's house—with the Quads and we were all dressed to the nines.
Quinn held my hand on the way there and I couldn't help but feel....wanted. I thought it was an insane feeling, but the way they acted towards me made me think the Quads...liked me...
"So, you guys do know that none of these people were really nice to me so don't get worried if I hide," I smiled, shaking a little as my nerves were getting out of control as we sped closer to Molly's estate.
"Don't hide," Xander said, "f**k these people. You're fine with us."
"Thanks, Xander," I said, placing a hand on his.
He shifted in the seat, leaning into my ear.
"Watch out where you put that hand, Cupcake. You're getting real close to the danger zone."
"You did not just tell her that," Sebastian, who was driving, laughed, "You think so highly of yourself, don't you?"
"I don't know. What do you think about me, Sabrina?"
How I want you to throw me on the hood of this car and take me from behind... .
"You're my friend," I smiled, "You're smart and handsome and giving... "
"I'll give it all to you, Sabrina.."
God, please do.
I don't think he could read my mind, but he gave his head a tilt and winked at me.
Once at the party, a valet parked the car and Q escorted me inside.
Seb, Hud, and Xander made their way to different friend groups so Q and I could have our night together and boy was it everything I'd dreamed of.
The theme for Molly's party was an enchanted underwater scene and the place was packed. I was certain the entire school was there and maybe some of the citizens of Aurora and Ellis and Moon—surrounding cities outside of Calhoun.
"Quinn!" Molly came up to us, "You look amazing! Sabrina?"
"Hi, Molly. Happy birthday," I smiled, but she just smirked, "I am sorry we didn't,-"
"We've already sent the gift," Q said, eyeing Molly who was looking me up and down, "Molly?"
"You look nice, Sabrina.." Molly choked, "Thank you for coming." She walked away quickly, strolling up to Meredith—yet another person who made my life hell.
"I've never known her to shut up," Q said, "It's you, Cupcake. They can't take their eyes off of you."
I knew I'd been bullied and I knew that the Quads being seen with me was weird, but I never thought that I would have people move out of my way.
"Why did that person bow?" I asked, as Q shook his head.
"Silly..."
I saw him cut his eyes at the person who did it and they straightened up.
"Would you like some punch?"
"I would like to dance," I said.
"Let's do this."
We danced so much I thought my feet were going to fall off. I evetually just took off my shoes, mingled with the other guests—some who were incredibly friendly to me, some I didn't know, but equally nice.
"This is my cousin, Corinne and her husband, Kyle," Q introduced me, "This is Sabrina."
Corinne's eyes widened, "You are so..."
Kyle eyed her.
"Beautiful," She smiled, "Such a beautiful dress. The guys have told me a little bit about you. We're from Downey."
"Oh, I love Downey! It's so nice to meet you both."
"You, as well, Miss Sabrina.."
"No, it's just Sabrina, thank you."
Quinn ushered me through a set of doors and onto the balcony. It reminded me of the night we danced for the first time.
"Are you having fun?"
"I am," I said, as a waiter brought us some punch, "Thank you for this, Q. Everyone is over-the-top nice to me, though."
"They'd better not be anything else."
"Samantha called me her queen," I blurted out, remembering the afternoon's events.
Q coughed, "Did she now?"
"Are you OK?"
"Y-yes..." Q choked again, "She's—uh--maybe a pet name?"
"Oh like calling girlfriends queens?"
"Yes..." Q said, "Something like that, I am sure."
We talked a bit longer, holding hands—dancing a bit here and there until I saw Xander come out to the balcony with Natalie Pert.
"Oh great," Q mumbled, "Looks like Xander found his date."
"What do you mean?"
"He'll be taking her upstairs soon."
"Oh?"
"That's Xander for ya."
Natalie was the one who'd tossed my gym clothes into the toilet multiple times throughout the school year. She was also the one who pushed me into the pool at the local gym when I didn't have any extra clothes. My memories kept running rampant in my mind and I have no idea what could have compelled me to do this, but once I saw her lean in and smash her lips to Xander's, grabbing his crotch in the process, I found myself next to them and tapping her on the shoulder.
"Excuse me," I said, "I don't mean to bother you both, but I would like to borrow Xander for a minute."
Natalie laughed in my face and shooed me away.
"Run along, rat."
I seethed, "I said I'd like to borrow Xander for a minute."
Xander straightened up and stared at me, glancing down at Q and then at Sebastian and Hudson who'd appeared in the doorway.
"You've got Q," Natalie said, kissing Xander again, "Go f**k him."
"Q isn't the only one who's mine, Natalie," I said, but I had no idea where this was coming from, "Xander belongs to me."
"What? f**k off, skank..Go back to your poor little Aurora and leave this to the big dogs," Natalie asked, laughing, "She's not for real is she?"
"Oh I have never been so real about anything in my life."
Natalie rolled her eyes when Meredith approached.
"Come on," Meredith said, "Maybe the Quads are into trash now."
In my mind, I said it. I said I hoped they ended up falling flat on their faces as they walked away. I yearned for it—craved it—needed to see them flop.
And then...they did.
We all watched as their legs gave out and they ran into each other over and over and over again and I just stared at them...my fists at my sides, my mind focused, and a few people trying to help them.
"Who's f*****g doing it?" Yelled someone as Q and Xander dragged me away.
"It's a witch!"
"Witchcraft? Or bloodsuckers?"
The comments and questions kept coming as we made our way outside and to the Rolls. Q shoved me into the back seat, but I snapped out of it and looked around.
"What's happening?" I asked.
"Nothing, Cupcake..." Xander said.
I scrambled out of the back seat and stood in the driveway.
"I am not f*****g leaving until you tell me what's going on!"
"We'll get you home and get Rayanne," Seb began, starting the car.
"NO!"I said, the ground shaking as I stomped my feet, "I AM NOT GOING! TELL ME THE TRUTH!"
"Is it her?!" Natalie said, running out, "Are you her?!"
"Natalie..no..please...not now.." Seb begged.
"She's outside of the barrier," Someone said, "The others are coming."
"Like hell they are," Xander said, trying to get me back in the car, "Come on, Sabrina. We have to get back home. NOW!"
"NO!" I don't know how it happened, but my shout knocked both me and Xander to our knees.
"Oh, f**k yes!" Someone whooped.
"You know the rules—the law!" Sebastian was saying to a few people, "We haven't gotten the go-ahead from the council..."
"Which means she's a f*****g free for all," Cody said, coming up the driveway, "Any wolf here can breed her."
"W-what?!" I looked around and back to the Quads who were now standing taller than I'd ever seen them.
"James isn't here, but it should be nice to take this little lady upstairs and claim what's ours."
"She's not yours, asshole!" Hudson yelled, "You know she's our mate. Everyone knows it and if you didn't know it then, you know it now."
"That's her?"
"That's Sabrina..."
"She's the one?"
"Their mate?"
"The Queen.."
All of the comments, all of the excitement. It was all a cruel joke at my expense.
"Touch her and I'll kill you," Xander said, his voice deeper than I'd ever heard it.
A few more people popped up from behind Cody. They looked dangerous and they looked hungry.
"Get her," Natalie smirked.
Before I could even move, I saw them...I saw their eyes change and I saw them shift...Their bodies contorting into what I'd known all along—what I didn't want to believe. They were in their second form, the menacing hybrid.
"See us now, Sabrina?" Xander said in his werewolf form, "Not the cute little puppies you want to cuddle, right?"
Natalie smiled at me, her eyes turning silver. She shifted straight into her third form of pure white wolf and ran after me.
I couldn't even scream. I took one last look at the Quads as the fighting erupted, other people shifting—some not.
I forced myself to run as fast as I could into the woods.. Faster...faster...faster.
"Sabrina..."
"Leave me alone!"
"Sabrina..."
Fuck, I was running towards the voice. I don't even know how far I'd ran or how deep these woods were, but I found myself stumbling—stumbling down, feeling Natalie and her friends—her pack—coming for me.
"Sabrina..."
Face planting into the dirt, I stayed there, my mind and body exhausted.
"Sabrina.."
It felt different. I felt different.
At peace...
Was I dead? Was this Heaven?
I looked around and looked behind me. No Natalie. No Quads. Just forest.
"Sabrina.."
I jerked my head up, now on my knees. I was so calm, so happy, so free....
"I am Sabrina.." I said, my voice soft.
"Oh, Sabrina..I've been waiting for you.."
