Chapter Seven ~April 5~ Jamie was happy to find Mary in the kitchen on Sunday afternoon after church. It looked like Sundays would be the only day he would actually get to see her. He quickly pulled her outside into the garden, so they could talk without the glare of the butler who didn’t like them “fraternizing.” Mary smiled up at him, saying with a little laugh, “I don’t know why that nasty Holton doesn’t like us talkin’.” Jamie shrugged. “I can’t say I know either.
