Chapter 10 - Thats what brothers are for

825 Words
Aliyahs POV I had decided not to think about what had happened today on the train ride. I did everything I could do to keep my mind off Ahmed. I tried reading but had to read the same page about 3 times because i wasnt paying attention so after 20 minutes I gave up. I thought I might as well use the time to catch up with all my friends but my bad luck no one was available. I was so desperate I had even tried playing flappy bird but I was so bad I just got frustated and gave up. After about about 40 minutes passed I gave up. It seemed my brain didnt want to do anything else except think about Ahmed and over analyse every second of the day. Ahmeds POV It was 7.30pm when I got home. I had missed the Isha jamaat so I thought I might as well just pray at home. I walked through the door and straight into the crowded living room. I gave Salaam and it was only when I properly looked around did I notice the room was filled not only with my own family but Fatz in laws were here too. I was so happy I had no idea my sister was coming down for the weekend. If i was happy before I was over the moon now. Aliyahs POV 'Asalaam Alaikum Haider. I know you prob just got home but please please please come and get me. Im just near cov now so if you leave now we will probably reach the train station at the same time' I quickly said before I lost the connection for the millionth time. 'Walaikum Asalaam' he said followed by a laugh 'you dont need to beg Aly. Why wouldnt i come pick you up. Thats what brothers are for'. 'You are being way too nice.....should I be worried' I asked curiously 'You might as well tell me now Haider what exactly do you want and how much is it going to cost' 'Gosh am I that bad. How can you think so low of me. On a totally unrelated note any gifts are welcome' we both laughed but he continued 'I will miscall when I am outside. Allah Hafiz. See you soon Inshah Allah' 'Inshah Allah. Allah Hafiz' I replied thinking to myself my brother was awesome. Ahmeds POV It was so good to be here right now. Me and my two sisters were just standing in the kitchen remembering old stories about when we were kids. I looked at the time. It was 9.30pm.....Aliyah would be reaching birmingham now. Maybe I should ask fatz to text and findout if she had reached there. But then again I would have to explain about the whole meeting. The only person who knew was mom and now that everything was back on track I really didnt want the whole world knowing. 'Earth to Ahmed' Fatz said waving her hands infront of my face 'That was so weird, one minute you were talking about when Aaminah got stuck in the toilet and then you just sort of blanked out' she asked looking abit concerned. 'I wouldnt be too worried Baj hes probably daydreaming about Aliyah' Aaminah said as she burst out laughing trying to get as far as possible from me as i was glaring at her. 'Seriously Bhai has been so moody recently. Yesterday was the worse mood. I thought he probably was just tired but when he woke up this AFTERNOON uff the grizzly bear was still around. To be honest Im surprised he came home in such a good mood.' 'Aaminah' my mum called from the living room. 'Saved by mum yay' Aaminah said as she practically skipped out of the kitchen with a big smile on her face thinking now i would have to explain to Fatz. She had done this on purpose. She knew if there one person who could find out the truth from me it would be Fatz. I faced Fatz who was looking at me expectantly waiting for an explaination. 'Okay fine I will tell you everything. But I just have to send one little text. Its really important' I asked trying to put on my puppy dog face. 'Fine but Im not leaving until you tell me everything' she said making herself confortable on the dining chair. I quickly texted Abdullah to find out if Samaa had heard anything about Aliyah reaching Birmingham ok. He quickly texted back saying he would let me know as soon as Samaa got a reply. 'So' said fatz as I looked up from my phone. 'So what?' I asked pretending to be non the wiser. 'Come on Ahmed since when have you kept secrets from me' she asked and she was right I never hid anything from her. 'Okay fine......I met Aliyah today' I said. 'Explain now' she said in a very serious tone.
