my journey through life
Chapter One:
My Beginning
My name is Precious Obadiah, and this is the story of my journey through life. Every life has a beginning, and mine started in Gonin Gora, a town in Kaduna State, Nigeria. I was born into a loving family of five children, and I am the fourth child as well as the fourth daughter in my family. Although we did not have everything we wanted, we had something far more valuable a home filled with love, care, and hope.
Growing up, my parents made many sacrifices to give us a better future. My mother was a caring and devoted woman who always made sure we were loved, protected, and encouraged. She taught us the importance of kindness, respect, and hard work. My father worked tirelessly to provide for the family. Despite the challenges we faced, he remained committed to making sure we received an education. Looking back today, I appreciate every sacrifice they made because they laid the foundation for the person I have become.
One of the greatest milestones in my life was becoming the first graduate in my family. It was not only a personal achievement but also a historic moment for my entire extended family. Before me, none of the grandchildren had graduated from a higher institution. Earning my degree was more than receiving a certificate; it was proof that determination, perseverance, and the sacrifices of my parents had not been in vain. I carried the hopes of my family, and I am proud to have opened a new path for those who will come after me.
As a child, I often felt different from other children. My childhood was filled with experiences that I could not always explain. There were nights when I struggled to sleep because I would dream about snakes and lizards moving around the house. Those dreams frightened me, and I often woke up feeling uneasy. At that age, I did not understand why I had such dreams or what they meant. Eventually, they stopped, and life became calmer, but I never forgot those unusual experiences.
As I grew older, I began to notice that I was not like everyone else around me. My family and those who knew me often said there was something unique about me. I also began to experience moments that I found difficult to explain. Sometimes I would have dreams or visions about events before they happened. At first, I kept these experiences to myself because I did not know how people would react. As time went on, however, I realized that these moments became part of my life, and I learned to pay attention to them.
My parents gave me a special name kyola. In my family, I was the only one who bare that name. To me it made me feel unique and reminded me that every person has a purpose. My parents believed my name carried a special meaning, and as I grew older, I often reflected on it and wondered what my future would hold. Whether through my experiences, my dreams, or the journey ahead of me, I always believed that my life had a purpose that I would one day understand more clearly.
My childhood was not defined only by unusual experiences. Like many children, I enjoyed spending time with friends, playing around the neighborhood, and attending school. School became a place where I learned not only academic lessons but also valuable life lessons. I met friends, shared laughter, and discovered the importance of discipline and determination. Every stage of my education shaped my character and prepared me for the future.
At home, I was surrounded by my siblings, who were an important part of my life. We shared happy moments, learned from one another, and grew together despite the challenges we sometimes faced. The love within our family gave me strength and confidence. Even when life became difficult, I always knew I had a family that cared deeply for me.
As I look back on those early years, I realize they were preparing me for the journey ahead. The love of my parents, the support of my siblings, my educational achievements, and the extraordinary experiences I encountered all became pieces of my s********e moments brought joy, while others raised questions I could not yet answer. Yet every experience helped shape my character and strengthened my faith that my life was unfolding according to a greater purpose.
This is only the beginning of my journey. The chapters that follow will reveal the challenges I faced, the lessons I learned, the victories I celebrated, and the experiences that transformed my life. My story is one of hope, perseverance, faith, and purpose. It is the story of a young girl from Gonin Gora, Kaduna State, who dared to believe that her life could make a difference.
