Submissive Me

Chapter 13

It has been two weeks since Ares has been without his mate, he and his men were working hard in tracking and getting back their Luna, When the shadows of the night almost kidnapped the sun, Ares announce they should go back to the pack to regroup. They had been gone in search for his mate all this time but now that the trace had gone cold the alpha knew he needed to regroup and aid the help of other packs to search for his mate. Anger was plastered across his face, with her kidnapped in mind he trash the makeshift tent he had been using all this time the alpha was getting impatient, he had just gotten his mate and to lose her, taken right out of his pack, from his home, made him, even more, angrier, so when Ares smelled the intense smell of burnt and a disgusting rotten scent he knew it was the scent of a rogue it hit his senses, he shifted into his midnight black wolf without second thoughts. Racing down the forest path with fury, he was heading directly to the rouge who smelt disgusting and bloody. 

the bloody smell got him even more disgusted, with the filth he was about to rip to shreds, his beta and a few more warriors joined their alpha as well but when they reached the rouge wolf they discovered it to be a she-wolf who was bleeding profusely and unconscious. Ares was too mad with rage to have any rational thoughts so he approached her like a predator approach its prey, the she-wolf regained her consciousness and snarled at the pack of wolf Ares took it as a challenge but just as he was about to rip her throat out Matt shifted and moved to stop his alpha, it wasn't an easy thing to do but Ares knew Matt wouldn't have tried stopping him if it wasn't the right thing to do.

With the young woman as a prisoner, they all made their way back to the pack, and without hesitation, Ares orders them to lock her away in the dungeon, he wants to be the one interrogating her, his warriors did as he asked of them and Ares left to his bedroom, the moment the alpha got there and closed his door the tears he had been keeping at bay came running down his face he buried his face into one of Zandia's sleepwear that had been laying on the bed, he inhaled her scent no matter how faint it was he found a bit of comfort in it, but the alpha had much to get done if he wanted to find his mate before it was too late. Ares showered and pull on sweatpants and a sweatshirt. 

He walked past everyone trying to keep a brave face for his pack but they felt his emotion and they knew he was at his most dangerous yet his weakest. 

Ares opened the cell of the young woman and ask one question. " Where is she"? The young woman didn't bother to resist, she began talking. " Alpha I will tell you everything I know, but please I don't want to be a rogue anymore". But this was not what Ares wanted to hear, and his wolf telling him to just kill her already wasn't helping the situation. " You f*****g b***h, tell me where my mate is and I will consider your life". He said it with such hate and disgust that the young woman whimpered in the cell. " Please alpha I am not your enemy, I just want to live". Matt stood there listening and looking, he wanted so badly to ask her what she meant but he knew he had already pushed his luck with Ares today and best friends or not Ares was alpha and he was beta. "Fine, if that is how you want to play,  Matt bring me a knife and dipped it in wolfsbane". The young woman's eyes bulged and she whimpered in fear of what is to come. "Please alpha Ares I will tell you what you want to hear but if you send me back out there he will kill me, don't you see, the mark on my neck, and who I am". Ares stopped for a moment and examined the young woman and what he saw only made him filled with more rage than before. "You're his f*****g mate". The young woman pulls herself closer to the cell walls as if she wanted to disappear into it. "Yes I am, but he doesn't want me, he wants your mate". 

This revelation made Ares a bit more accepting towards her and what she had to say, " okay. If you help me get my mate back I promise you I will let you live in my pack and be protected by me and my pack". This made the young woman more relaxed hearing this from Ares. 

"Okay, I will tell you what I know". She introduced herself as Melissa Barnes of the white river pack a pack that Ares has allied with since his very first day as alpha, she also told them she was the alpha's daughter.  " but I thought alpha Barnes said his daughter had found her mate and was living overseas.

"Yes that was exactly what that bastard wanted my father to think, but the truth is I was a prisoner in that sickening place he had me there, he marked me and mated me then he cast me aside as one of his maids he had another who he slept with for the trill of the bond causing me pain, her name is Savanah,  she doesn't like your mate too much either". Ares hearing this made him, even more, angrier than he was, Melissa continued to tell them how he would beat her and rape her when he felt like it, Matt and Ares both growled with anger. Melissa smiled at the gesture but she continued she told them how she found out about Lucas's plan to kidnap Ares's mate. 

"It was the woman he slept with she liked to boast about being with him, so one day she told me of how Lucas captured an Akuma demon and bargained with it, to kill the kitsune shifters but one. Your mate". Ares's eyes held confusion in them because Lucas had previously told them how the Akuma had killed Zandia's pack and he had to save her dad at the last minute. 

"Confuse? Well he played you just like he played my dad and me, he was responsible for the devastation of your mates' pack, he had originally approached the alpha of that pack for his daughter to be his mate. The hurt was still there in her voice, her mate didn't want her even before he had met her. But the alpha turned him down, he told him his daughter was waiting for her true mate, he hated that so he made a bargain with the demon to kill them all except one".

 Matt looked at his alpha telling him that he believed her. It would also be confirmed why he couldn't find anything about Zandia's father and how Lucas told the story of him still being alive yet he didn't know where the man was either, his story had many flaws to it Matt thought but Melissa was now filling in those flaws. "Alright say I believe you, then tell me where is my mate". Melissa smiled "If I told you I bet you wouldn't even believe  me ". Ares sighed. "Okay I believe you, now tell me where is my mate". 

"You're mate never left your territory". Ares stood up and grab the woman by her neck his patience was running thin. "Listen b***h, I sit here listen to whatever crap you had to say to save your insignificant life but if you play with me I will murder you with my bare hands". He applied more pressure to her neck which causes Matt to hold onto his hands and asked him to stop and he had believed her story. "And why?" Ares asked. "Because the story Lucas told had so many flaws to it and Melissa explanation filled those flaws". 

"What do you mean?" Ares asked his beta still confused. 

"Alpha I know you are worried about the Luna, but we are too, you must use logic and not brute force, only that way we will get the Luna back well and alive". Ares release  Melissa who fell to the ground in a fetal position crying and coughing. " I couldn't find Luna's father no matter how hard I tried, and we have some of the best trackers and still we couldn't find him, Lucas claimed to have saved the man but still even he didn't know where he was, I think Melissa is telling the truth".

Ares looked at his friend and he knew he could trust him they have been friends since childhood so he nodded acknowledging his request to spear the woman's life. 

"Alright, since she hasn't left my territory how come I can't smell her scent". Melissa rubbed her neck which now had a light bruise she looked up at Matt with a grateful look but Matt kept a straight face. "Listen, you need to tell us what you know and tell us now, my alpha is running out of patience with you". She nodded and start telling them how Lucas was able to hide them. " you can never find them because Lucas has the aid of a powerful witch working for him, the man is despicable and he'll do the despicable thing with despicable people to get what he wants".

" so a witch is hiding them in my territory?" Ares asked in disbelief. "Yes alpha, and you might have heard of her before.  Rowena, the witch who received a blessing from the dark lord himself".  Matt and Ares couldn't believe what they were hearing if Lucas truly had the help of a great witch like that it could explain the surprise attack and how he got away without leaving a trace.

"If you allow me to call my father, I can also get in touch with an even greater witch who will help us". Both men shared a look, but both knew they didn't have enough time to leave and the very little they have they didn't want to waste it. 

"Alright Melissa, I don't normally trust people this quickly but as you can see I don't have a choice, so I will let you out of the dungeon. But, if you cross me I won't-" 

"Trust me alpha I won't cross you".
