" Alpha, there is a breach in the east wall." one of the pack warriors reported. There is a story, a legend really, often told by people to their children and to anyone who will listen. A story of intrigue, murder, romance and even betrayal. This is the story of El Palmer, the infamous owner of the Rose Hall estate. The folklore of El Palmer has been told and retold countless times. She loved riding across the estate and viewing the operations of the plantation. At times she could be seen standing on her balcony monitoring the slaves and their daily chores. Yes, she was happy...for awhile. It was only a couple of months after her wedding that El became bored with her husband and the life of a little housewife. She sought other amusement, taking male slaves for romps in her bedroom. More and more her lust for the slave men grew until it could no longer be hidden: her husband caught her in the act of adultery and whipped her with a riding crop. Enraged by this embarrassment, El vowed she would take her revenge, and never again would any man have any control over her! At the right moment, she slipped poison into his coffee and killed him. Then she moved swiftly to take over the operations of the estate. Now she was free! She could do whatever she wanted, with whomever pleased her. El married twice afterwards, but they could not satisfy her lecherous desires; she quickly killed them and inherited their wealth. It is said all three husbands' bodies were buried somewhere on the Rose Hall estate. Meanwhile, her bed was never empty, for she often enticed many slaves to her bed. She was a jealous lover. If she felt her lovers looked at a slave girl they were severely punished, even killed. In fact, El could be heard shouting orders to her slaves from her balcony and would order the torture and death of any who crossed her. Obsessed with retaining power, it is said that she performed rituals using the bones of babies she murdered. It was also said that she often used her potions and magic charms to woo lovers to her bed and control the slaves. She ruled with fear; her control otherworldly, she was called the White Witch of Rose Hall. It seemed as if nothing could stop her, but one day she went too far. She became infatuated with a young English book keeper, who only had eyes for a young girl named Millicent, the granddaughter of Takoo, the local warlock. Jealous and unable to win him for herself, El put a curse on Millicent which caused her to painfully wither and die. Takoo wanted vengeance, so he, along with a group of slaves, stormed the great house, attacked her in her bedroom and strangled her to death. She was quickly buried in a very deep grave and a ritual was performed to prevent her spirit from rising. However, it was not done correctly. For every night they could hear the voice of Rowena Palmer along the corridors, and her spirit walking the rooms of the great house. Thus begins the legend of El Palmer's ghost, who people to this day claim has been spotted riding her black horse across the estate. " Aunty Elphada, is the white witch in the story you?" A child asked. Elphada laughed and tilted her head back. She was busy telling the children an old folklore story, when the attack on the pack began. The pack warriors didn't waste any time getting into defensive mode and before we knew it, a full-on battle ensued. Before I joined my alpha on the battlefield, I made sure all the children, elderly and women were safe and secure in our shelters. Elphada was right at my side the entire time, she was amazing really. One after the other she battled and killed the rouge wolves. I scanned the area looking for my target, Lucas, but he and Rowena were not there, "Cowards", I growled, my rage consumed me. I was done with all of this. I reached for my bow and arrow and began attacking the rouge wolves one by one. They fell to the ground, my arrow to their chest. A wolf pounced on me, nocking my bow from my hand. He got on top of me trying to rip my neck open, but I was stronger than the wolf, so I pulled the knife from my waistband and plunged it into its neck, ripping it open. Another wolf pounced but Elphada pinned him to the tree using vines. The wolf struggled to get free but it was useless. Elphada was good. Ares mind link me asking to meet him at the pack house. The battle has ended. I forced the rouge wolf to change back to its human form. Elphada used the same vines to bind his hands and we walked to meet the rest of the pack. The ground was covered in blood and dead bodies. I did't feel any of our own dying, so I knew the bodies were of the rouge wolves. Ares was giving orders to burn the bodies and get the ground clean. The children and elderly shouldn't have to see this, our men got to work immediately. Washing away the blood and getting rid of the dead, Ares pulled me into his bare chest and kissed me. It was exactly what I needed. This was my first fight and if I said I wasn't shaken by it I would lie, even though that is something I could never say out loud. Elphada reminded me of the prisoner. I asked her to lock him in the cell. Ares reminded them of no food and water for the prisoner.
