Chapter 19

1080 Words
Everyone was on high alert in the days to come. Lucas had attacked us, and even though we had one of his men, we still didn't know how to find him or what his plans were. The rouge, whose name is Chandler, wouldn't talk no matter the torture he had roughly endured. My mate was beginning to become more and more frustrated. Lucas was out there plotting his next move, and he didn't know how to stop him. "Luna," a voice called out to me. It was Savannah. She looked and smelled different, too. I guess she and Simian waited long enough—too long, if you ask me. "Yes, Savannah." "I don't know if the alpha would allow it, but I would like to talk with the wolf in the cell." I was shocked. She mentioned something like that, especially knowing the situation she was in. Ares doesn't trust her, and it isn't any secret that he released her because I asked him to. "Why would you suggest such a thing, Savannah?" My voice was full of disgust at what she was asking. " "Don't get me wrong, Luna; I know the alpha doesn't trust me, but that is precisely why I am asking you. I think this could help us know Lucas' plan." Savannah's request caught me off guard. Despite the dire circumstances she found herself in, she seemed determined to speak with the wolf in the cell. I couldn't help but feel a mix of disbelief and curiosity. As I questioned her motives, she reassured me that her intention was to gain insight into Lucas' plan, using the alpha's lack of trust as an advantage. I nodded for the guards to let her speak with the prisoner. I watched as Savannah approached the cell, her eyes locking with Chandler's. The tension in the room was palpable, but she remained composed. As the conversation unfolded, I couldn't help but wonder what secrets would be revealed and how they would ultimately impact our fight against the enemy. Chandler's lips curled up into a menacing smile as he began to speak, his voice dripping with a mixture of amusement and malice. It was clear that he held a key piece of information that could potentially turn the tide in our favor. The anticipation grew as Savannah pressed him further, her determination shining through her unwavering gaze. Speak, Chandler. Where is Lucas? All of what Lucas told us is a lie; all he cares about is getting Luna and his sick games. Chandler's eyes narrowed, his smile growing wider. "Lucas? Oh, he's closer than you think," he taunted, relishing the power he held over us. The room fell silent, the weight of his words hanging in the air as we realized just how deep Lucas's deception ran. Hours passed, and Savannah questioned Chandler more and more, but nothing. Frustration grew within Savannah as she continued to question Chandler, desperately seeking any clue that could lead them to Lucas. The room filled with tension as the hours ticked by, leaving them no closer to unraveling the truth behind Lucas's deceitful games. What has he had over you, Chandler? What is it that makes you so loyal to him? Savannah's voice trembled with a mix of anger and confusion. She couldn't comprehend why Chandler remained steadfastly loyal to Lucas, despite the mounting evidence against him. The room fell silent, the weight of her question hanging heavily in the air, as Chandler's eyes darted nervously around the room, avoiding any direct answer. 'Listen Chandler, Lucas made me kill my mate'. Savannah sighed. Her voice cracked with a mixture of sorrow and frustration, her words revealing the depth of the manipulation she had endured. The room grew even quieter, the chilling truth sinking in as Chandler's expression shifted from nervousness to guilt. 'He is not a good man; you must not protect him. He doesn't care about anyone but himself'. Savannah's plea hung heavy in the air, the weight of her words resonating with Chandler. As the silence stretched on, it became clear that Chandler was grappling with a moral dilemma, torn between loyalty and doing what was right. The room seemed to hold its breath, waiting for Chandler's response, as the truth about Lucas's true nature began to unravel. 'He killed you mate?, Chandler asked. Savannah's eyes welled up with tears as she nodded, her voice barely a whisper. The revelation sent shockwaves through the room, leaving Chandler speechless and filled with a mix of anger and disbelief. The truth about Lucas's true nature had shattered any remaining doubts, forcing Chandler to confront the harsh reality of his friend's actions. Listen, I will fight for Lucas no matter what, but Savannah, I know how much you love him. I'm sorry; you went through that. 'Lucas is in your old pack, Luna, well, whatever is left of it'. Zandia's eyes widened in disbelief, her heart sinking at the mention of her old pack. Memories of the pain and betrayal flooded back, intensifying her anger towards Lucas. She took a deep breath, determined to protect her pack and confront Lucas head-on. 'Alert the alpha at once'. Zandia thanked Savannah and made her way towards the alpha's den. As she walked, she couldn't help but wonder how Lucas ended up in her old pack and what his intentions were. Nevertheless, she knew that she had to gather all the information so that when the time came for the war between her alpha and Lucas, she would be prepared. She couldn't afford any surprises or weaknesses in her strategy. Zandia's mind raced with possibilities, trying to anticipate Lucas's next move and how she could outsmart him. With each step, her determination grew stronger, fueled by the burning desire to protect her pack and ensure their survival. She got to Ares den, and he wasn't intrigued; Luna was in the dungeon with Savannah interrogating the prisoner. Zandia knew that she had to act swiftly and decisively. She approached Ares, her alpha, and shared her concerns about Lucas's potential tactics. Zandia informs him of the information she gathered during the interrogation of Chandler. Zandia emphasized the urgency of the situation, explaining how Lucas had been gathering allies and plotting against their pack. Ares listened intently, his expression growing more serious with each word. Realizing the gravity of the threat, he nodded in agreement and together they devised a plan to counter Lucas's tactics and protect their pack from any harm.
