“Mom, you won’t believe who I met today on the plane?” Arya asked her mother that night as she was in her room. They had just done with the party and the maidens had cleared the house. Some of the people had gone home and Arya was in her room with her mother. It had been a busy Saturday and she only had Sunday to relax before she went to officially start working on Monday. She had just been introduced to the whole world and, as the new incoming CEO, her parents were proud of her.

“Now, whom did you meet? I now understand why you wanted to take that public flight."Ruth said with a smile on her face. She could not just believe that her daughter was now all grown and was ready to take over the company.

“Mom, come on relax, so, I just met this guy who sounded all creepy at once. In fact, I almost lashed out at him but he turned out to be a very different person. In fact, he was so welcoming. We talked about a lot of things and would you believe that he is actually the CEO of his family’s real estate company? He talked a lot about the company and how to run it. I came out of the plane educated, at last I know a thing or two about running a company." She said, sounding so happy.

“You know, I have always thought that you were always socially withdrawn, but I am happy that you made a friend today, so, honey, how do you feel about all of this? You know moving back home to take care of your father’s company is a big step and I just want to know your thoughts about everything, as your mother, of course." She said, trying to make her understand that she really cared about her and was always going to be proud of the woman she had become.

“Mom, not really. I am not a social person, but I know I can be a very good person and socialize so well, but only with people I am compatible with. Anyway, I don’t know how to feel about all this. I feel like it is a huge step I am taking, but I can handle myself, and with you and dad beside me, I believe I will be able to run the company. Isn’t that what we all want? For the company to grow more and bigger, I promise I won’t let you guys down. You know that mom, right?”

“Yes, honey, I believe in you, and I know you will. We will always be here for you no matter what and that is for sure.” She said as she fondled her hair.

“I know mom, and I am not taking anything for granted. I am actually grateful to have you and dad in my life. You are the greatest parents anyone could ever ask for mom, so have no doubt, I promise not to fail you. I will try my best.” She added.

“I know you will, we will talk more tomorrow honey. You have had a long day today and I just wanted to check on you before you sleep and see you off to bed. We will talk more tomorrow and more about the company. For now, I think that you should rest.” She said as she parted her on her back, after then she walked back to her master bedroom, her husband Danson was still not in the room and she figured out that he might be in his office, so she went to the shower, like her normal routine.

“The day was long, Hayley, but I still can’t believe that you bailed out on me, you were not here on my special day and I am hurt. I am serious about this, by the way." She said, and Hayley laughed at the other end. She knew how to handle her and she was just too tired to attend the party after a long time by herself.

“You do know that we had a flight, plus you also did not know that your father was planning a party for you. It was a surprise. I don’t think I would be ready for the party in time if I were to come and you and I both know that I always like taking my sweet time while I am doing my preparation, so I don’t think you should be blaming me right now.”

“Yes, I know I also did not know about the party. Anyway, I am tired today. I just feel like I should go to bed right now and sleep like a princess. I am so tired today and I thank God that tomorrow is Sunday. At least I have a day off to rest before starting work on Monday.”

“You are officially starting to become the independent woman you have always wanted. I can’t wait to see you swinging on that office swivel chair.”

“Oh, come on, I am no different from anyone, it will just be normal. I don’t see why you want to make it like a big deal?”

“Yes, I know, I am just happy for you babes, and speaking about tomorrow, can I make it up to you? Like I want to take you out, just a girl’s day out. I hope you don’t mind because I feel awful for not being there for you on your big day, so I want to make it up to you just like usual.”

“Thank you, Hayley, you know I will never say no to a date, especially if it involves food.”

“And yet you don’t grow fat, you are always stuck in the gym, I don’t know you are looking for a killer body, you already have the perfect body anyone could ever wish for, I don’t know what else you are looking for, but anyway, who I’m I to judge you?”

“Great you asked yourself that question, I am so tired today. I think I am going to sleep right now. I guess I will talk to you tomorrow?”

“Yeah, sure.” Hayley said and immediately they hung up, Arya went straight to sleep. She was feeling so sleepy that she immediately fell asleep after the call.

“Wow, you are getting more beautiful every day, damn it." Danson said to his wife as she got out of the shower. Ruth was much younger by ten years, she still looked young and anyone could confuse her and her daughter. You would think that the two were sisters but she was her mother.

“No, you did not just say that, you actually looked like a teenager when you said that.” She said as she wiped herself dry.

“Yes, I just said that and would it be bad if I just appreciated my beautiful wife? Come on?”

“Okay, okay, I get it, now will you please just let me get done with this. Then I will get to bed, and by the way, you should also head to the shower, because I am not going to share this bed with you.”

“Whatever, you know I have to do that because you are always getting what you want.”

“Of course, I do. Now will you please go, I am waiting for you.” She said, and Danson had no choice than to head to the shower.

“I don’t even know how to tell Arya all this. I mean it is just so hard to break this news to her, it will break her. But you know, the earlier we tell her the better." Ruth said to Danson that night, as they were both ready to sleep. She wanted to sleep but she had so much on her mind that she could not sleep, she was thinking about her daughter.

“You know I was just thinking about it and I thought maybe we should give her a week to catch up with the company. This news is even hard to tell her and I know it will break her, but we don’t have to rush things. I know this family won’t let us rest, but I will talk to him, he will understand. Arya is just getting used to how these things are done. Let us give her some more time.”

“Okay, you better talk to them because I know my daughter, she is always sensitive and she won’t handle this so well. I will just try to make her understand why we did what we did, but this needs time.”

“I know honey, I am working on it and everything will be okay. You don’t have to stress yourself about it. I got this. Now will you please stop beating yourself to it and let your mind rest, it is late. We should sleep now.”
