The college romance

Chapter 4

Aviraj’s POV

Once we reached dean’s cabin ( I mean dad’s cabin) he asked about what was happening in the cafeteria.

As as soon as the question left his mouth Sanjh’s friend, what was her name? Ohh yeah Divya without stopping narrated the whole incident to dad without even missing a single detail and also told about the morning incident.

When she finished dad moved towards me and asked me that if what she is saying is truth or not??( and let me tell you he never sounded this dangerous) and what’s more shocking in this was that in all this Sanjh did not even said a single word and was calm but was looking quite sad while seeing my dad.( I was not able to understand her reaction, did she knew my dad from before, I could not help myself from thinking this possibility) 

Avi I asked you something? ( dad’s stern voice brought me back from my thoughts)

Dad are you seriously going to trust her words ?? I said pointing towards Divya. 

Divya scoffed and turned towards me and said I knew you were rude, arrogant and egotistic but I didn’t knew you were a liar too.

You ( I said pointing my finger towards her) what do you think of yourself haan.

Her friend ( she said pointing towards Sanjh)

Dad moved towards Sanjh and asked if what Divya was saying is truth or not?

But what she said next left me and all my friends and even Divya shocked .

I am not going to talk to you uncle I am mad at you.(Sanjh said to my dad)( and turned her face from him)

Dad: what why? What did I do?

( he never spoke with this much warmth and love in his eyes except me and my mom) ( but here I am seeing him speaking in this manner with Sanjh) ( I mean what is going on, it’s just the first day of college and so much drama already)

Sanjh: seriously, you promised you will come to meet me as soon as you will arrive from Paris. It has been a week you came back and didn’t come to meet me, I was waiting for you and you didn’t even come and tell Siya aunty that I am mad at her too. 

Dad: I am so sorry Sanjh , I wanted to come but after returning I was overloaded with work and even Siya wanted to come but she couldn’t. I am sorry . ( he said while making a puppy face)

Sanjh: don’t give me that look Mr. Saxena I taught you that look.( she said while giving a fake glare)

Dad: come on cutie don’t be like this see I came to college just to meet you and to wish you good luck on your first day and see I even brought chocolates. ( he said while showing her a chocolate box)

Sanjh: really, you aren’t lying to me right? You really came to meet me.

Dad: have I ever lied to you??

Sanjh: no and even if you do I can catch you in minute( she said smiling widely)

Dad: now come give me a hug.

And that was it she hugged dad tightly and said that she missed him.

Dad: I missed you to. And now back to the matter in hand.( he said moving towards us )

While we were looking at them with complete shock and was trying to contemplate what was going on here.

I thought rather that wasting time in thinking I should ask directly to dad . So that’s what I did.

Dad do you know her??( I asked dad)

Dad: yes Avi I know her since she was born . She is my best friend’s daughter Sanjh . I told you about her.

Aviraj: no dad you never told me about her.

Dad: what are saying Avi we always talk about her .

Aviraj: no dad you always talk about your cutie. ( I said while making a bad face because I hate her . I know I haven’t even met her but still I hate her because mom dad both adore her and sometimes I think they love her even more than me that’s why I always used to refuse to do family dinners at there home because I did not wanted to meet her)

Dad : yes and she is my cutie . She is Dev’s daughter.

And you never met her because you always used to refuse to go to the family dinners .

Dad said making me and my friends shocked and Divya was not any better . She was also shocked as hell.

Dad: now tell me Avi did you really insult her.

Sanjh : uncle please leave , it doesn’t matter.

Dad : no Sanjh it matters to me . No one has the right to insult you. You maybe Dev’s daughter but I have considered you as my own , you and Avi are equal for me. So if he has done a mistake, he needs to correct it and apologise.

Aviraj: I was getting more mad by the each passing second. Here I am his son and he is taking her side. Great just great .

Sanjh : uncle but the fault was mine. So I should apologise to him .

Aviraj: as soon as she said that I looked towards her because I know it was my mistake I shouldn’t have shouted on her , it’s just that I did not wanted to accept it. 

Dad: Sanjh don’t try to save him . He can’t do whatever he wants just because it is his dad’s college.

Sanjh: uncle I am not trying to save him , it was seriously my fault and I have already apologised to him and he even accepted. It was just a small matter Divya was just exaggerating it .

Divya tried to speak something but Sanjh held her hand tightly and gave her signal not to speak anything.

Dad : okay then . You all can go to your classes. 

As soon as he said we rushed out of his cabin.
