The board meeting went well. I smiled when I needed to and didn't say anything stupid. The old men in their expensive suits seemed happy with Nathaniel's choice of wife.
I caught them nodding when he put his hand on mine during his speech.
We were walking through the lobby of Pierce Enterprises when I heard a voice that made my stomach drop.
