jealous

1132 Words
Tisha followed her brother and his friends to the school cafeteria to have a little celebration. She was not concentrating on their conversations. She was looking out for Liam; she has missed disturbing him already. That guy was her only friend and they’ve been friends for less than a month and she was addicted to him already. The rest of the guys were happy and dancing around. She noticed Mason was on his phone he was probably video calling his partner in crime; Hans. “.. the kid was good. You have to see him play. Our little boyfriend makes good uses of his height.” “Gossip.” Tisha said and snatched the phone from him. “We’ve got a party to get back to. We will call you when we are done. Bye.” She hanged up the call and handed the phone to her brother. “Really. Tisha.” “Yes bro. Let’s party!” She pulled her brother towards his friends and danced with him. That will get her mind off her addiction. Liam saw some of the senior class guys moving towards the cafeteria and followed them. He spotted her dancing with her brother. He smiled when he saw her laughing. Seeing her happy makes him happy. It is just amazing how she is very happy and carefree around the older guys but couldn’t even face her own classmates. “There is the loser, give it up for the guy who promised to win against us.” Aaron said pointing to Liam. Everyone turned to look at him, some of the boys giving him high fives as he walked towards Tisha and the other team members. Tisha ignored him and just played with her phone, whilst he was talking to her. He was eager to see her and now she is not even talking to him. “Are we fighting?” “No Liam.” “So why are you ignoring me?” “Nothing” He understood she didn’t want to talk him, he just wanted to know her reason. Last time he checked he did not do anything that calls for the silent treatment. Annoyingly, she was being nice to everyone except him. “I noticed you and your girlfriend are not your usual jolly selves, what’s going on?” Mason asked loud enough for the others to hear. “I really don’t know why she is being like this.” “Mason, last I checked, I was single. And friends have arguments and quarrels. It is between Liam and I.” Now his chance to know what he did wrong just slipped off. “Don’t be here smart mouthing me, do that when they are bulling you. Now tell me the problem.” Mason said angrily. Tisha could not believe her brother just said that to her in front of everyone. He really wanted to know why she wasn’t speaking to Liam then fine; “I am not talking to him because I am scared. It is always the two of us but now they are noticing him. I am not saying he shouldn’t make friends.” Tisha paused and looked around. Almost everyone there had their attention on her. “I know it’s stupid but I just realized I over estimated my place in his life, I need to get used to being near him and not interacting with him. Are you satisfied now?” she picked up her bag and run out of the room. Mason felt stupid for pushing his sister to her limit and Liam was too surprised to react to her explosion. The other guys just discussed their own opinions and looked at the two waiting for their reactions. Liam was the first to take his bag and follow after her Mason just stayed with the boys even though he couldn’t take the incident out of his mind. He did not expect Tisha to reply him and this just got to him. “My man, are you sure you don’t want to follow your sister because you can’t even concentrate on our discussions. Just go to her.” Desmond one of the players said. “I am just giving them enough time to settle this issue. She will not listen to me even if I go now. I know my sister and how to get her forgiveness.” Liam found her in the class all alone reading her books or maybe keeping her face hidden. She was actually crying and he felt bad about the whole thing. They made a deal to meet after the game and he got carried away by the fun and probably all the attention that he forgot. Not entirely though because he was looking for her through the crowd but she disappeared. “Tomorrow is Saturday and you are still learning, relax the brain.” he said and sat on the table. “I just want to forget certain things and pretend they didn’t happen.” “Your tears are enough evidence that it happened and you definitely can’t forget about it now.” “Liam, I am sorry I over reacted, I am not used to seeing you around other people and I think I was just jealous.” He just wiped her face with his thumbs and put her head on his laps. He was not surprised at her reaction; his kid sister did worse than this the first time he chose his boys over her. She cried and wouldn’t eat anything until he decided to go sit with her during the dinner. He knew they have grown attached to each other after these few weeks of being friends but he appreciated her reactions just now and knows it’s a mutual feeling. He sometimes feels that she is too friendly with Mason’s classmates and felt jealous that they’ve known her longer than he has and share amazing memories that do not include him. Just that he doesn’t voice out his emotions, he keeps them within and appreciates the fact that she even gave him the chance to be a friend. “If it makes you feel better, I am also jealous of you and the boys. How you are yourself around them and all the many wonderful things you do with them without me, it hurts sometimes. I just ignore my emotions. I am not scared though because I know you will never end our friendship.” Liam said softly. He heard low sniffles and pushed her hair away from her face. “Are you crying?” he asked “no” “No? then what are you doing?” “Nothing.” “Are you okay now?” “Yes.” She replied “Really?” “really” she answered.
