When their flames expired, Calla slumped between them. Their arms loosened on her and she was gently placed on the bed. She blinked and Kolz"s face appeared in front of her. When he didn"t disappear into the dark void within which she"d lived her last days, she offered a tentative smile and scanned his face, so happy to finally see him again. His cheeks were hollowed and pale. Beneath his eyes, deep circles looked like bruises. He looked exhausted.
"Calla?"
"Yes…" Her voice was raspy and hoarse.
