If Calla came to live here, they would have to find a way for her to move about Montrose that didn"t involve dragon flight, but that day wasn"t today. Kolz carried her down the mountain to Montrose in a gentle leisurely glide through the air. They were flanked by two guards, Wyll and Ryck, who"d acted as their drivers the day before. The spring air was crisp and clear, and she could see for miles down the valley before they dropped down below tree level. When they landed in a central square, the dragons transformed to their human forms. At each corner of the square, a massive dragon sat in a ready pose. They reminded her of pictures she"d seen of guards at Buckingham Palace… except these guys were much larger, with scales and wings. But their sombre, rigid poses triggered the comparison.
