Fighting Back

The waitress smiled brightly, her cheeks flushing at the sight of Sebastian holding her hand. “Of course, sir,” she responded eagerly. Who wouldn’t want to make some extra cash, especially when it’s from Sebastian Sterling himself? “Very good. All I need you to do is to ruin someone’s dress for me,” he instructed, gesturing towards Raven. The waitress turned to glance at Raven, who sat innocently with her daughter. She appeared surprised and confused, knowing that only the wealthy and powerful could afford to dine at the restaurant. She couldn’t afford to offend any of them and risk getting into trouble. “Sir, I really don’t want to get into any trouble,” she said innocently, her apprehension evident. Sebastian scoffed, rolling his eyes as he gently pulled her aside. “You won’t be getting into any trouble. She’s just a lowlife woman trying to get my attention by any means necessary. I need you to embarrass her by ruining her dress. That way, she'll have no choice but to leave.” The waitress took another glance at Raven and nodded. Raven was simply dressed in a blue gown. She didn’t appear overly extravagant, confirming Sebastian's assumption about her. She seemed like one of those women who would go to great lengths to attract the attention of a wealthy man like Sebastian, even if it meant forcing her way into an expensive restaurant like that. “I'll do it,” she said confidently. Sebastian smirked coldly. “Good for you. Now, all you have to do is spill some wine on her dress, and five thousand bucks is all yours.” Her eyes widened at the amount of money involved. “Really?” He nodded. Sebastian watched intently as the waitress picked up a tray containing a glass of wine. She approached Raven's table under the guise of serving her, then intentionally spilled the wine on Raven's dress. Raven jumped to her feet, looking shocked, while Arabella gasped in disbelief. The restaurant fell silent as all eyes turned towards them, witnessing the unfolding drama. “You just ruined my dress!” Raven cried out in anger. “Shouldn’t you be grateful that it’s just wine?” The waitress asked, her disgust obvious. Raven gasped in shock. “Excuse me?” The waitress pointed, and Raven followed her gaze to Sebastian, who grinned and waved at her. Rage surged within Raven. “He put you up to this, and you allowed it?” she demanded, her disbelief palpable. “Sebastian Sterling was kind enough to only drench you in wine. You should stop bothering him and leave this place. People like you don’t belong here. What makes you think you can get his attention by following him around?” The waitress sneered with contempt. “I demand an apology right now!” Raven ordered, her voice trembling with anger. The waitress stared down at her and burst into laughter. “You’re not just poor, but also proud. What an eyesore. Get out of here before I have security throw you out.” Raven scoffed, shaking her head in disbelief. “What did he promise you, or are you one of the many women who flock around him for his wealth?” “At least, I have some dignity left. Not like you, who's sold your shame to the wind. Get out of here!” The waitress screamed, attempting to drag Raven out of the restaurant. In retaliation, Raven forcefully wrenched her hand away and delivered a resounding slap across her face. Everyone gasped in shock when Raven struck the waitress. No one had expected her to react in such a manner. Sebastian, too, was taken aback. He couldn’t believe Raven had stood up for herself so boldly. Despite her slim and innocent appearance, she possessed a fierce inner strength that he had underestimated. This wasn’t the submissive response he had anticipated. Raven had humiliated him by tossing the money in his face, and he had expected her to leave in shame. Instead, she was fighting back. The waitress gasped, her hand flying to her face. “Did you just hit me?” “I’ll do worse if you don’t get out of my sight and bring me your manager. You’re losing your job today!” Raven declared confidently, her anger palpable. “What?” The waitress exclaimed in shock. “Who do you think you are to ask for the manager of Grand Elysium’s hotel? He’s one of the richest managers in the city and answers to no one. Leave now, or you’ll regret it,” she threatened. “Call your manager now and let’s see who’ll regret it,” Raven retorted through clenched teeth. “You’ll be sorry for this, I promise you that,” the waitress warned, before hurrying off to find the manager. “Who the hell does she think she is to demand the manager?” a woman exclaimed from a nearby table. “Absolutely shameless. She should leave before the manager arrives. Why does she want to embarrass herself further?” a man whispered to his companion. “Haven’t you given up yet? Why is it so hard for you to understand that I don’t want you? Why put on such a show? To impress me or what?” Sebastian questioned, approaching Raven with a mixture of annoyance and curiosity. Raven ignored him, her patience wearing thin. All she wanted was to slap his arrogant face. He grew more irritating with each passing second, and she couldn't tolerate it any longer. “I don’t want you to end up worse than this. Apologize, take your daughter, and leave before it's too late. The manager of Grand Elysium’s hotel is disciplined and strict. He could have you arrested for assaulting his waitress. Is that what you want?” Sebastian asked, unfazed. “So, what do we call what she did to my dress?” Raven shot back. “Oh, your cheap dress? Please, that's nothing. Meanwhile, I'm too sophisticated to associate with a lowlife like you. Stop wasting your time and the little money you have and leave,” he retorted, his disgust evident. “Who do you think you are? What makes you think you’re in the league of men I like? You’re nothing but an arrogant jerk who thinks the world revolves around him. It would be foolish for any woman to fall for you because you’re as disgusting as a pig!” Raven cursed loudly, causing gasps from onlookers. “That’s it!” Sebastian muttered, his patience at an end. Raven might be beautiful and intriguing, but he wouldn't tolerate her insults. “Call security. I want this woman thrown out of the hotel immediately!” he ordered. The hotel security rushed over, prepared to eject Raven and her daughter from the restaurant. However, a loud, stern voice stopped them in their tracks. “Stop!”
