The manager approached them, his expression stern. Sebastian, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, Raven would be kicked out of the hotel by the manager himself. He couldn't wait to see the look on her face when that happened. However, the manager's next words caught him off guard.
"Don't you dare touch her! Have you lost your mind?" the manager bellowed at the security officers, pointing furiously at them.
Everyone, including Sebastian and the onlookers who had witnessed the drama, was taken aback.
"Manager, I don't think you understand what's going on here. This poor woman has been pestering me, and I want her out of here as soon as possible," Sebastian retorted, adjusting his suit.
The waitress, who had gone to call the manager, nodded in agreement. "Mister Sterling is right. She attacked me. I warned her that she would regret this, but she insisted that I call you. She's so disrespectful. People like her shouldn’t be found in prestigious hotels like this."
Jeff, who was standing behind Sebastian at this point, immediately supported his Alpha with his words. "Mister Sebastian Sterling here is very conscious of his security and privacy. That is all the more reason he can only be found in hotels like this because he believes he would be safe here. But this woman had done nothing but make him feel very uncomfortable. She's been following him and even got her daughter to address her as 'dad.' What does that tell you? She's desperate and would do anything to get his attention."
Raven lowered her gaze, a sly smile appearing on her lips as she shook her head in disbelief. She wondered exactly why Sebastian and his bodyguard would think she was following him. She was disgusted by how he was so full of himself and easily looked down on people because he believed he was far better than them.
The restaurant fell silent as they awaited the manager’s verdict, but what he said next sent a shocking wave through everyone. He turned to Raven. “I am really sorry about this, madam. I sincerely apologize for this. I assure you incidents like this will never happen again.”
Sebastian was confused, and so was everyone else in the restaurant.
"He should be apologizing to Sebastian Sterling, not her," someone said to another.
"Has the manager gone blind or what?" another added, looking puzzled.
Raven forced a smile. “It’s fine,” she said softly, gently using a napkin to wipe her body.
“The VIP section will be prepared specially for you. This is a way of apologizing to you for all the inconveniences,” the manager said, bowing his head respectfully.
Everyone was taken aback by the unexpected turn of events. They had anticipated Raven's humiliation and possible expulsion from the restaurant, but instead, she was receiving special treatment.
“Who exactly is that woman, and why is she getting such special treatment?” a woman asked her husband.
The middle-aged man shook his head, looking utterly confused. “I really wish I knew.”
“Manager, what are you doing?” the waitress cried out as the manager was about to lead Raven out of the restaurant.
The manager stopped in his tracks and turned to her. “As for you, you’re fired!” he declared before leaving.
The waitress gasped in shock, turning to take a glance at Sebastian, who remained speechless. She stormed out in anger, wondering why the manager would sack her just to please this poor woman.
Raven took her daughter by the hand and followed the manager out of the restaurant, leaving everyone, including Sebastian, in shock.
“Alpha, only very wealthy people can afford the VIP section of this restaurant. How come the manager is willing to spare it for Raven? Could she be someone important?” Jeff inquired, looking very confused.
Sebastian scoffed, stroking his beard with his right hand. “I don’t think so. Perhaps she's having an affair with the manager. Now I see why she was able to secure the presidential suite.”
Jeff took a deep sigh. “What do we do now, Alpha?” he asked.
Sebastian glanced at him and shrugged lightly. “Absolutely nothing. I want to see how long this lasts. Sooner or later, she'll come crawling on her knees before me. They always do,” he declared, turning around and striding back to his seat majestically.
Deep down, Sebastian was boiling with rage, not because Raven hadn’t been thrown out of the restaurant, but because he found himself strangely drawn to her, and the possibility of her having an affair with the manager wounded his ego.
Gradually, the restaurant settled back into its usual busy yet classy ambiance. Everyone resumed their focus on their meals.
“What would you like to have for dinner, Alpha?” Jeff asked, placing the menu before Sebastian as a waiter arrived at their table.
Sebastian, previously absent-minded, scoffed and looked away. He sighed. “You know what? I’ve lost my appetite,” he declared, standing up and walking away.
Jeff wasn’t surprised. Sebastian always preferred to be on the winning end of things, and tonight, it hadn’t worked out that way. He rose from his seat and hurried after him.
The next morning, Sebastian, dressed in a blue suit and black tie, left his presidential suite alongside his bodyguard, exuding confidence in his handsome appearance. As he approached the elevator, his satisfaction turned to disappointment upon seeing Raven already inside.
Jeff approached Raven. “You must leave this elevator and take another one. The Alpha wants to use this one.”
Raven stared at him in disbelief, then glanced at Sebastian, who stood a few steps away with his puffed chest and broad shoulders. “Tell your Alpha that he can use another elevator. I got into this one first, and I'm not leaving it for anyone, not even him.”
Jeff's jaw dropped in shock. “How dare you?” he yelled in anger, turning to Sebastian, expecting an order to remove Raven from the elevator.
Sebastian couldn’t believe Raven's boldness in standing up to him. No one had ever done that. At this point, he was fed up and sure he couldn’t tolerate her any longer. His growing attraction to her had made it difficult for him to punish her. To avoid appearing weak in front of witnesses who had seen Raven disrespect him countless times, he decided to take other measures.
He entered another elevator and went straight to the hotel manager's office. Upon seeing Sebastian walk in, the middle-aged man stood up, exchanging a pleasant handshake.
“I hope there is no problem, sir?” the manager asked, ushering him to a seat.
Sebastian sat down. “There will be a problem if you don’t demote that woman in the presidential suite to another floor.”
