Chapter 5
Sophia
I wanted to see Iwan, but Alex dragged me with him. I knew that Iwan wanted me to be safe as soon as possible before hell broke loose, so I stopped fighting and let Alex lead me to the car.
"Can I count on you to stay in the car and not do anything stupid," Alex asked after pushing me inside the SUV.
"Yes. I won't get in your way," I promised. At the same moment the first shots echoed through the night.
Alex closed the door and turned away to help the others. I looked out the window and saw Mrs Whitman running towards the SUV. I opened the door and helped her into the car when a bullet hit the car somewhere behind us. Mrs Whitman screamed and I closed my arms around the trembling woman after hastily slamming the door again.
"Don't worry, Mrs Whitman. We're safe here.
