Eve's Pov:
My real parents clearly don't have blond hair, so how come they would have a daughter with blond hair?
"At least, make it more believable if you guys are going to put on a show!" I say.
A sudden bitterness fills my heart at the thought that no one actually cares for me.
Otherwise, why didn't they notice this?
It just doesn't make any sense.
"Quite! What an insolent child! How dare you talk to your elders like this?" That man, my said-to-be father says glaring at me. I flinch from how loud and harsh his tone is, gripping the sheets tightly in my fingers.
"Shut up! How dare you raise your voice at my precious granddaughter!" The old man says, pointing his walking stick at my father.
"But dad-"
"I told you to shut up! You guys have messed up enough already!" The old man says, pointing to three of them, not listening to what his son has to say. He turns towards me and gives me a warm smile, his tone gentle and affectionate, completely different from how he talked to his son. "Eve, grandpa knows that it's too much to take in and you must have many questions to ask. But you should rest for now. I will answer all your questions and explain everything to you later. Just remember that you are the daughter of the Hudson family. You are my granddaughter!"
He is patting the top of my head affectionately before going out with my parents and that girl.
That girl glares at me secretly when no one is looking before following them out.
"Don't worry. You are safe here. Take some rest." That woman says, giving me a reassuring smile before going out.
I lay down, still in a daze, not understanding what the hell was happening.
Am I dreaming?
Did I die or something?
What the hell is happening with me?
Am I really not my parents' daughter? Is that why they treated me like this all these years? They never showed an ounce of affection or care.
But if those are my real parents, then why didn't they look happy to see me? And what is that girl still doing here if she isn't their daughter?
Thoughts continue to mess up my brain, making my head hurt.
So many questions, but all unanswered.
For now, I am relieved that I am safe. At least for now.
I didn't die, nothing happened to me when those goons took me away.
Wait!
I think I saw a guy before fainting.
Who was he?
Was it just my imagination?
I fall asleep being completely engrossed in my thoughts, not even caring about the luxurious things around me that I never thought I would see.
If they really aren't my real parents, then I want my real parents to love me and care for me like I have always craved.

Max's Pov:
I turn off the engine and get out of the car, throwing my keys to a servant.
Just when I am about to head inside, a beautiful woman in a floral dress comes out.
Well, looks like I don't have to go inside anymore.
"Mom!" I call her, watching as she approaches.
"Are you done here?" I asked to take her limited edition bag from her hand. She huffs angrily. I raise my eyebrows.
"What's wrong, beautiful lady?" I ask, leading her to my car.
That servant hands me my car keys back.
"I am so done with Lily and Kaiden. If it wasn't for your marriage and older master Hudson requesting me, then I wouldn't have bothered to come and deal with those idiots at all!" She says, glaring ahead.
Did they give her a hard time?
No, they wouldn't.
They are too scared of Dad to bother Mom.
I open the door for her, and she gets in.
Closing the door, I go around the car and get inside. I keep her bag in the backseat before securing my seatbelt.
"Why, what happened? Did they do something?" I ask to start the car.
"What else? Emily has completely brainwashed Alina and Kaiden. Kaiden shouted at Eve just after she woke up. They didn't even seem happy or relieved to see her wake up," Mom says angrily. "If I didn't know better, I would have thought they were attending a funeral!"
I raise my brows and look at her. "Uncle shouted at her?"
"Yeah, but the older master told him off."
"When are they sending Emily back?" I ask to drive my car out of the Hudson mansion.
"Old master Hudson wants to send her back, but Kai and Alina don't agree. They want Emily to stay as their daughter." Mom says.
I knew it.
I tap my fingers on the steering wheel rhythmically.
It won't be easy to remove that vixen, not after she has lived with them for all these years.
She has an uncle and an aunt completely wrapped around her fingers. Otherwise, which parents wouldn't bring their own child back?
They didn't bring Eve back even after knowing that Emily isn't their daughter for years. Just because Emily took advantage of their weaknesses towards her and stopped them from bringing her back.
"So, she isn't leaving anytime soon, is she?" I ask, knowing the answer full well.
