Levi
“You’re flying away, Hermano,” Miguel commented. Blinking my eyes back to my bandmate. Seeing him leaning toward me while having his face kind of closer to me.
“Sorry,” I coughed out.
He stood up straight. “Did something happen?” he asked while walking away.
I smirked. “It’s nothing.” Or there was, actually.
“You didn’t have the best night with your family?” Jorge asked.
“I did.”
“Did Athena still bother you again to make a song for her?”
I chuckled. “She did. But don’t worry about that. I won’t abandon you guys to create a song for her.”
“Ah, whatever for my lovely Athena.” Oh, by the way… I might have this silly Tom and Jerry relationship with Athena, but she was still my cousin. My baby sister.
Therefore, “I’ll cut out your d**k with my guitar string if you touched her, puto,” I threatened him as Jorge boomed laughing his ass off.
“He’s serious, you f**k,” Miguel said.
“I know he is, brother. Besides, I know what I’m doing. Not like Athena likes me either. It seems that cousin of yours doesn’t like guys, thanks to the brother over here.”
“I didn’t do anything,” I countered. Or did I?
“You keep bullying her like a boy who’s in a crush with her and now, it appears she hates every being with d***s. Does she have a boyfriend?” Jorge asked.
“Not that I know of.” And with that protective father of hers, I doubted it Athena would get a boyfriend in the near future. Said she had to wait until she was thirty. She would be an old virgin if Uncle Nathan couldn’t keep his hands away from his daughter. “Forget about her, is there going to be any concert soon?”
“Next week, the same place,” Miguel answered.
“Can’t wait.” I loved it. The crowd. The cheer. Knowing my family was there watching and supporting him from afar. It was the best feeling ever. These two were my buddies since primary school. From just being a friend, we found out we had the same thing in common, our passion for music, and our love of music. It was just natural that we clicked right away. With Miguel as the vocalist. Jorge as the drummer. Me as the guitarist. It was just the three of us and it always would be.
And we were single as a bird.
Don’t get me wrong, it was not like we made a pact we would remain single for the rest of our lives. We tried to date. After all, even I had to admit that my friends were as attractive as I was. Miguel with his shoulder-length dark brown hair with blue eyes. Girls were into him. He even agreed that his eyes were the magnet to them. Jorge despite his bald head, that didn’t stop him from being stand up to the ladies. That muscular body with tattoos inked to his right arm, that was like his stuff to flirt with. And me…well, I just had this charm. A pheromone.
And these guys…had no idea I was different. I knew they would accept me for who I was. I just couldn’t find the courage to tell them that I was dissimilar from them. But anyway. That was not the main problem for now. It was not like I had to announce it to them. Even my parents agreed. I didn’t need to blurt out my secret to everyone near me. Everything would turn out naturally.
Miguel’s phone rang as he pulled it out of his pocket and he grinned. I knew immediately what. I boldly asked, “A date?”
“It is,” he said while stuffing the phone back. “I was flirting with this chick for a couple of weeks from the bar and she finally gives me the green light to let me take her out.”
“Lucky you,” Jorge commented. Yeah, lucky motherfucker. Despite Miguel having the look of a player and he was the vocalist where he stood up the most, he wanted true love. He used to have his high-school sweetheart but since Miguel was so busy with the band, they broke up a year ago. What a shame though. I liked Gabriela. I didn’t expect she couldn’t contain the tension though. I thought she was stronger than that. Never judge a book by its cover.
“What about you, Levi?” Jorge asked.
“About what?”
“A woman.”
“No.” There was though but not for me to flirt. And she was laying comfortably in the hospital, probably doing therapy to regain her memories.
And I told them about Eden. How I found her. What was her situation. Her current one. And what I was about to do with her.
“What a gentle soul you are, Levi,” Jorge said.
“Well, Levi has always been a prince f*****g charming to the ladies,” Miguel added. “He just couldn’t leave them alone.”
“Yeah, that’s why he never refused their desire to bed with him.”
“Shut up, you fuckers. That’s just proof of my mother raised me well. Besides, she was injured and I had no heart to leave her alone and let her die.”
“You did the right thing, Hermano. How is she now?” Miguel asked.
“Doing good, it seems. And since no one is looking for her,” I paused and exhaled. “I have to take her home while waiting for someone to contact me. I can tell she’s a tourist.”
“Maybe she traveled alone and the bastard of an ex found her and abused her,” Jorge said. It could be.
“What a f****d-up ex if he was. I mean, he was like going to butcher her if she didn’t run away,” Miguel stated.
That was what these two were thinking.
I immediately knew what of her just by her smell.
She was the same demon like me. A succubus.
Turner said her wound healed fairly quickly. I was amazed in front of him when I knew that was normal. At least to her and me. It seemed she was wounded by a powerful weapon that left a demon like her to be injured. If it was just a regular knife, she would soon heal like nothing happened. I knew that night at least I had to bring her to the hospital. I didn’t know how to patch up a wound so I let the hospital do its job. After all, I paid for everything. And I would see what I could get from her while she was staying with me.
But seriously, where did I see her before? Her face looked familiar. Did we cross paths before?
Two hours later, the three of us parted ways. I grabbed my Harley and headed to the hospital. Turner told me yesterday Eden could come home today. It’d been five days since she awakened and I named her Eden. I had absolutely no idea why I named her that. It just came out of my head and mouth. And it was kind of silly remembering I was a demon and I named that woman Eden. The paradise. The garden without sin. The pure place.
Me, the tainting being. The dark creature. How comical.
As I reached the hospital, I headed to where Eden’s room was. Seeing her alone while she was reading something and enjoying her last lunch here. Her green eyes found me as she smiled. I felt something within me. What was that? I closed the door. “Hey,” and greeted her. “How are you today?”
“I’m doing good. I had that cognitive therapy,” she said and I stood beside her.
“How did it go?” She exhaled. Not good, huh? “Well, not everything will turn out like what we wanted the first time.”
“You’re right.” I turned around to grab a chair and I knew; she was looking at my asset. She had developed a crush on my ass. When I turned around to walk back to her, she glanced away at the iPad in her hands. That was cute. Her side cheek was slightly blushed. Looking like she just caught on doing something naughty. Not that it was though. I loved having people looking at my ass, especially from a beautiful girl. Even I was proud of it.
“Finish your lunch. You’re coming home with me today,” I said.
She was only staring at her barely eaten lunch. “I don’t really like it,” she slightly whined like a child. Well, I had to agree with her about that. Hospital’s foods tasted like s**t.
“Don’t be picky today or Doctor Turner would hold you back for another night and you can’t help it but eat another shitty food.”
“Do you want me to stay another?” she asked.
“Do you?” I asked back.
She shook her head. “I mean, I know I have nowhere to go if you weren’t here, but I want to be with you.” f*****g hell.
“You know that you’re going to be with a stranger, don’t you?”
“Everyone is a stranger to me.” Oh, right. She got the point though. “Besides, you’re not a stranger anymore,” she added.
“What makes you say so?”
“I know your name.”
I tilted my lip a bit and said, “You don’t know who I am, Eden.”
“I know you are a good man.” That completely caught me off guard. Well, I was used to people calling me a good man. I never did something besides that killing. Even though I looked like a rebel person, a man who loved to f**k a different woman every night, locals here recognized me as a good man. Something that I should be proud of. And I was. They even knew my parents. My family. There were no bad rumors about us and it had to stay that way. But there was something different when Eden told me I was a good man. It came straight from her heart. Heart? Did a succubus like her have one? Halt! Even an incubus like my father had a heart. He loved my mother. Me. Sapphira. Even a half being like me. I had to stop thinking that every demon was evil. Even Uncle Lucifer fell for Aunt Ivy.
“Thank you,” I said and sat beside her instead on the chair. Eden’s body immediately stiffened. She was nervous.
“What are you doing?” she asked in a slightly panicked tone.
“Sitting,” I said easily.
“But you just pulled a chair.”
“I had a change of heart.” I grabbed the knife and fork. Taking the sad-looking chicken with some green beans. Giving them to her mouth, her eyes went to me. Oh, Lord, have mercy on me. Ever since she opened her eyes and we were looking at each other like this, I felt an earthquake inside of me. What the hell was that? And why I was feeling this way toward this woman I didn’t even know about? Toward this poor amnesic succubus who was now under my mercy? What did she even look like before she lost her memory? Plainly like this? Or a badass b***h? I didn’t know what I was signing for when I wanted to take her home with me. Either a curse or a blessing. All I knew, I wanted her. Like I said, instead of targeting someone randomly, having one woman waiting for me like a good girl she was at my house was much better. And I was doing her a favor, unknowingly giving her the main source she needed. As long she didn’t take too much and ended up killing me.
“Levi?” she called. Her voice when she called me sounded heavenly and soothing as I blinked my eyes.
“Come on. I’m helping you to eat.” Eden’s eyes fell to the chicken and the beans again before she decided to swallow them. Swallow my c**k. Motherfucker! This was absolutely dangerous. I wasn’t supposed to imagine things with her. Things I could do with her – potentially.
I was about to take another chicken when I discovered she was chewing while looking at me. “What?” And she looked away again, blossoming those kissable chubby cheeks. She was cute, for sure. “You didn’t do anything wrong so there’s nothing to be embarrassed for,” I said.
“I’m sorry, it’s just…” Her eyes returned to me slowly and once again…I felt it, the f*****g tremor. “I like your eyes,” she continued. “They’re so pretty. So enchanting I couldn’t look away.”
“You can’t?”
“I can’t.”
“Then, you can keep looking at me.” She blinked. I followed. What the f**k did I just say to her? Everything came out too fast without me having the time to adjust everything in my brain. Moron.
But to my surprise, “Thank you,” she thanked me for that.
That was it.
I was f****d.
