CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE After passing a restful day and sleeping well, the pair awoke early the following morning to begin loading Ed Brunnen’s truck with everything they needed. Angie had a long drive ahead of her and both were eager the get their plan started. They first went out to the garage, where Peter grabbed a few boards and cut them to the size he needed while Angie took the hammer, nails, and a few other things, then loaded them in the truck. Working together, she and Peter then took his father’s small jon boat and loaded it into the oversized bed of the pickup truck after first removing its registration stickers. They then transferred their bags to the Ford as well, Angie tossing in her emptied backpack so she could use it later. In the house, Angie and Peter removed every shotgun
