Chapter 9

1052 Words
(Eliana’s POV) We arrived at the zoo in two hours, and as it was the weekend, it was very crowded. Although for a little moment I was afraid to bring the kids inside, I did not let my heart crush their happiness. I kept a tight grip on their hands as we ultimately made our way inside. “Mumma! Mumma! See, Giraffe” I was helping Lucas drink water when Leo yelled my name and for a brief moment, I had a heart attack. Ultimately, though, I just sighed at his actions and followed him and the others to see the giraffe, which is his favourite animal. We had been watching various creatures for the past three hours, including Leo's favourite, the giraffe, Lucas's favourite bird, peacock and Liam's favourite, the cheetah. During our breaks, I gave them water to drink and provided them with some snacks. Finally, though, we noticed McDonald's, which is located exclusively inside the zoo, because they were hungry and it was also time for their meal. I took them there. “I want you all to sit here only and don’t move from your seats until I come. If I saw anyone move, mumma would be very angry, got it?” I told them sternly since, following the previous event, I get really nervous whenever I have to leave them alone, even for a brief period of time and the entire space was packed this time. However, I continued to move in the direction of the counter, not before taking another glance at our table. “Here are your meals… and your favorite animal toys because you three behaved well this whole day and listened to me” After a minute or so, I arrived with their food. I took something out of the bag and showed them their toys as soon as they started eating. We had a great time the entire evening, and I was happy that I could bring my kids along. “Guys! Guys! Listen, GUYS!...” It was almost time for us to head out when I heard shrieking. At that point, everyone fell silent and turned to stare at the yeller. He was momentarily embarrassed as well, but he soon told his friends something that was heard by everyone in the room. “What?... Are you serious? Pls tell you are not joking, pls…OH MY GOD, Grayson Scott is here…The Grayson Scott!” Excitement erupted from one of the girls, who proceeded to push her pals out of the place so that she could see Grayson. But the entire time, my face was devoid of colour, and my heart froze as soon as I realised he was close. I woke up from my daze when I heard Liam shouting, and I noticed that everyone was scurrying about to meet the biggest celebrity that had arrived. “Mumma, who has come?...Mumma, can we also go see?...” I glanced at Liam with wide eyes the moment he said to meet him, and all three of them began asking questions about him. They can't meet, and I can't allow this to occur. I simply grabbed their hand and walked out of the room without answering any of their queries as my entire body began to tremble. I attempted to leave the zoo while there was a sizable mob of people waiting right outside the gate. They were all tumbling over one another in an attempt to catch even a fleeting glimpse of him. I brought the kids to a less congested side and did my best to protect them. I heard everyone screaming as soon as I turned around to call for a cab, so I glanced back and caught a glimpse of his side profile as he emerged from the building that was just across from the zoo to greet his supporters. My mind began to race with thoughts of the past the moment I saw him standing there. “Mumma, are you ok?... What happened?...Mumma, are you crying?” Throughout the entire voyage, the incident that occurred was all that was on my mind. I was completely unaware that he and my children could be in the same location for a little moment. I couldn't even try to block out those recollections for even a brief moment since they kept flooding to me one after the other. I'm still shaking from the experience since I'm so scared of it. I was lost in my thoughts and didn't notice I was weeping until Liam murmured something, dried my tears, and gave me a hug along with the other two. As soon as we got to the hotel, I put the kids to bed and, with trembling hands, purchased tickets back home. My heart was racing the entire time. I had trouble falling asleep the entire night, so when I woke up, I wasn't feeling well either, but I still gave the kids my best effort. They were not happy at all when I told them about our quick excursion, but Liam, the more mature of the three, told his brothers something in their ear, and they gradually smiled and accepted my decision. “Guys, wake up. We’ll be late otherwise… Come on , get up you three right now or I am leaving you all here alone” After they spent time playing in the garden and the swimming pool, which I took them to because all three of them were asking to go. Since it was our last day, I finally took them. However, after they were in their rooms, the three of them slept for a while until our taxi arrived. Once we got into the taxi and headed home, we bid adieu to New York and prayed that the memories and the man would stay behind. And wish to never see him again. However, as they say, never say never again. Perhaps the deity was not on my side, and I'm not sure what wrongdoing it was that caused him to grant me this torture. As we all know, life is unpredictable. However, I have always experienced randomness in my life, even from my birth, but this time around, all of my unpredictable experiences outweighed the unexpected event that occurred and changed the course of my life once again.
