WIFE TO-BE

1072 Words
ALARIC'S POV I glanced over to the beautiful woman beside me on my bed, my future Luna. She was as beautiful as she had always been. All the emotional scars she had gotten from people over the years only made her more beautiful and pure-hearted. If only she knew. I could imagine the town questioning my decision to choose her, asking me why I'd chosen the town's reject, the nobody. Not one of them would see how much unkindness she'd had to go through for the sake of her own survival. Or how much pure energy she radiated even in her worst moments. Someday I would tell her how I would fall in love with her all over again whenever she was in her most vulnerable state. A love that went beyond the complications of having drunk s*x with the Alpha. A love that had left me weak whenever I watched Kurt lie to her that he had not breached their contract even when another woman was in his bed at that moment. A love that drove me to the bars in the slums most days in the week, drinking my sorrows away because I could never figure out how to attract her attention without scaring her off or giving her the impression that I was going to toy with her feelings like my son. The same love that brought her straight to me on the most magical evening of my life. Now she was mine and I was willing to fight the entire world for her sake. “Good morning Alpha” her sweet voice pulled me away from my thoughts. I watched her roll over on the king-size bed to where I sat on the edge as I fought the urge to take her away with me and start a new life somewhere far away. “Alaric” I corrected her. “Just Alaric”. “I can't call you by your first name, you're the Alpha” she tried to protest. “And you're the Alpha's wife, are you not?” I asked, my eyebrows raised. “To-be wife” she protested further. I chuckled. She was revealing her stubborn side yet again. “So will you call me by my first name alone when you become my Luna?” I teased . She looked at me with her seductive eyes and I was ready to risk it all. Then she turned to face the other side of the wall. “Maybe” she cooed. I chuckled again. I loved a little challenge. I eased myself into the soft sheets and pulled her towards me again, resting my hands on her waist. She wasn't facing me but I could tell she was grinning. I ran my hands across her thighs and planted kisses on her earlobes. I could feel the goosebumps on her skin and my wolf was tempted to devour her. Then I stopped. I could not lead her on. At least not now. I didn't want our entire relationship to be based on s*x. I wanted to give her the world and all the luxuries in it. And at the same time, I wanted to teach her valuable lessons that would help her with her emotional stability especially as my future Luna. So I planted a final kiss on her neck and withdrew myself, hard as it was. “I want to take you somewhere today, Lia” I announced. “Mm hm” she grunted. She was still sleepy. “We don't have to leave now” I joked. “Mm that's good” she grunted. Then she turned to face me and sat up on the bed. “Thank you, Alpha. I know last night was so sudden and I just…”. “No, no, you don't have to. I won't make you relive those memories again, Lia” I told her. I in fact wanted to do the exact opposite: create better memories for her so she would never have to relive the memories of her time in her uncle's home. I planted a kiss on her left cheek and her lovely smile grew wide. “Where are you taking me, Alpha?” She asked, her sweet voice serenading my ears again. “Somewhere special” I said with a smirk. “I'm intrigued” she responded with the same energy. A little while, the head chef informed me that breakfast was ready. I wanted Malia to be comfortable enough before meeting my home staff so I asked for the breakfast platter to be sent up to the dining corner in my room. While Malia took a shower, I had my personal assistant, Tasha, pick up a few outfit options for her from one of my favorite luxury stores. Tasha. My personal assistant and the only person who could question some of my decisions aside from my beta. Funny enough, she was the girlfriend of my beta, Vince. She was a strong-willed woman who had gotten her share of life's unfairness for a long time before meeting Vince who eventually introduced her to me. She had quite a lot in common with Malia, and she was definitely not an unkind person. I was itching to know what opinions she would have of the mystery woman that had been turning my head recently. Tasha eventually arrived at the house and I asked a maid to retrieve the outfits and bring them to my room and I laid them on the bed for Malia. I wanted her to be completely surprised. “Are these for me?” Malia inquired in a low voice. “Yes, all for you, pumpkin. Try them on and pick one for today” I answered her, watching the shocked expression build up on her face. “Oh my…you shouldn't have, I brought some clothes from…”. “I won't have you wear those old clothes anymore, Lia. I don't want you to have anything that reminds you of your old life. You're going to be the wife of the Alpha and it's high time I start treating you like one” I cut in, resting my hands on her waist. Malia sighed. I knew she was overwhelmed. But I hadn't even started. “I promise I'll give you the world and everything in it just to make you happy, my sweetheart. This is just a start”.
