The past month has been nothing but crazy, it’s so hard to explain. When we said bye to Aiden the morning he left, it was the hardest thing we ever had to do.
Ray, Summer, Dylan and Jordan, along with their mini army of children, went over and said bye to him as he stood by the waiting car to drive him to the Army base on the other side of Texas.
Felix, Finn, Gage, and Art went over to him with Tristian, all saying good byes and talking in hushed tones, like they were keeping a secret from us. Aiden’s face became determined as he nodded at them as they spoke. Tristian pulled him into a hug and whispered something in his ear before clapping him on the shoulder. All I heard from him was ‘remember what we talked about.’
