Chapter Five

Chan's POV

The sun rays were hitting his face and he was sitting there while his head was turning. He was really sleepy which makes him cute. “Didn’t you sleep last night?” His head suddenly fell on my shoulder. Aigoo. He was really sleeping on his way to the University.

“Chandrea!”

Whut—I opened my eyes and sat straight as I heard mom shouting from outside. A dream again? Lucas?! Why do I keep on dreaming about that guy?!

“Chandrea! Are you awake?!”

“Yes mom!” I shouted back as my response. I got my notebook and wrote what happened to my dream. Will it happen today? My phone rang and an unknown number was calling.

“Hello?”

“Chandrea!” Lucas?!

“What?! How did you know my number?!” I can’t remember about giving him my number. Wow. Is he really stalking me?

“Your mother gave it to me. She wants me to take care of you and watch over you when we are at school.” Aish! Mom!

“Well, I don’t need a bodyguard like you!”

“Come on Chandrea! Let’s go to school together. We’ll be late!” Right! It will be our first formal class today!

“Okay okay! I’ll hang up, I need to get ready!” I didn’t wait for his response instead, I started to take a bath and fixed myself. Will that really happen today? We will go to school and we will take the bus going there. Argh! My dreams are freaking me out!

After fixing myself, I bid myself goodbye to my mom who was busy computing our finances. I know mom was having a hard time managing our finances because it's only the two of us and the money that she is earning from our business is really not enough. I think I need to find a part-time job so I can help her.

"Chan. Why are you in deep thought?"

"Huh? N--nothing."

"Come on." The bus stopped in front of us so we headed and boarded the bus with his lead. He allowed me to sit beside the window which is really my spot whenever I am taking a bus ride. I put my earphones on and look at the city view. It will be more than 30 minutes from here to the University. I guess I really need to look for a part-time job later after the class. I need to do something in order to survive this kind of life.

"Oh--" Lucas' head fell on my shoulder-just like what I've dreamed about. It really do came true.

"Lucas-" I was hesitant to wake him up because he looks like he was really sleepy. Wow. It was the formal first day of school and he had the courage to sleep late. I wonder what course did he take since we are not classmates. Gosh, Chandrea! Why are you becoming interested on him so suddenly?

Little did I know, the bus stopped at the waiting shed near our University so I need to wake this man up.

"Lucas, we are here already."

"Huh?" He slowly opened his eyes and sat up straight while scratching it. It was so childish but how can he look that cute?

"We are here."

"Oh--Let's go." He suddenly grabbed my wrist and dragged me, going out of the bus. Is he that excited?

"Uhm-Lucas?" He came into his senses when he realized that he was still holding my hand so he let go of it until the traffic light changed into green so we hurriedly crossed the street heading to the University gate.

"So, I think we need to separate ways." He uttered.

"What course are you taking?"

"Political Science." He replied. He wants to be a lawyer?

"Do you want to be a lawyer?" I asked him and he nodded his head enthusiastically. Whoa.

"That's so not you." He frowned and leaned closer to me so I had the tendency to move backwards. Wait, what is his problem?!

"Why Chan? What do you think of me?"

"Can you move farther?! Geez. What are you doing?" Those eyes-it makes my heart beat faster! The way he looks at me is making me so uncomfortable. Come to your senses Chandrea!

"Aigoo. Are you falling in love with me already, Miss?" What?!

"Eww. Stop your illusions!" He laughed at my reaction. Wow?!

"Alright, we better not be late at our first day. See you later Chan!" He waved at me and started walking away on the opposite direction. See you later?! What does he mean by that? Whatever! Chandrea, just go and look for your first class; this University is quite huge so you must not get lost. Just like what Lucas said, you better not be late on your first day.

My first class is at the third floor so I took the stairs to go up and found my classroom. Well, the good thing is, it's not yet starting.

"Chan? Chandrea is that you?" Someone called me as I took a vacant seat at the third row. She approached me and she really looks familiar. Did I already see her somewhere?

"Chan! It's me Reina!" Reina?

"R--Reina?"

Reina. Is she really the one who was from highschool? If she is-

"How are you?! Oh my! I didn't expect you here and I didn't expect that we are classmates!" I looked away from her. Did she change? Why is she talking to me all of a sudden?

"Reina, don't make a scene here." I whispered. I won't forget her. She became part of my miserable highschool life.

"Oh come on, Chandrea. Past is past. We can be friends now." She offered her hand to me. Did she really change? I can't help but doubt. She is someone who is really unpredictable. I need to be careful.

"Chandrea, I don't think my hands have virus or something?" I looked around the classroom. They were all looking at us and they all look like they are waiting for my response. Ugh. I really want to have a peaceful life here at the University but at the first day of my formal class, something already came to bother me.

"O--okay." I accepted her hand carefully and she smiled brightly at me. Why do I feel really different? I was traumatized and I really can't forget what happened those times but this is a different setting now. I need to be stronger. Chan, you have to be stronger.

Our first professor arrived and entered our classroom. Reina sat in front of me at the second row. This is really unbelievable. She is now my classmate.

"Ms. Uy. Ms. Uy?"

"Present!"

Phew. I didn't realize that she was already calling names for attendance. Come on, Chandrea! Don't show Reina that you are still bothered by her. You are stronger now. You must be stronger.

Our first class had ended so I stood up my chair and immediately went out of the classroom to go somewhere I can breathe. I need to have some fresh air first before the second class. It will be okay because we actually have a 45 minute break before the second class. Being with Reina, suffocates me.

"Hey!"

"Lucas?!" What is he doing in front of our classroom?

"What are you doing here?"

He was actually catching the attention of those who were passing by our corridor and my classmates. I admit Lucas is really a good-looking guy and his height. Tch. I was only like up to his chest. He is tall. But going back to the topic, what is he doing here at our classroom?

"I am checking on you."

"What?!"

I grabbed his arm and dragged him to a corner. Wait, why did I do that?

"Why are we hiding?" He asked me teasingly. "You don't want me other girls to notice me, huh? Are you jealous? Well, to tell you frankly, there are a lot of girls who I approached me a while ago at our class but don't worry, I only have my eyes on you." WHAT?!

"Are you done?" Why is he this talkative and what did he say?! He has his eyes on me, only?!

"I am made for you Chan. We became neighbors. Do you think it's destiny?"

"Can you come to your senses, Lucas? You are not even answering my question. Why are you here?"

"I want to show you something. Come on!" He grabbed my wrist again and he dragged me by walking fast to some where I really don't know. Why is he always dragging me to places?! It's really unfair! Not because I am small, he would have the right to drag me and take me to places just like this! Ugh!

"I am sure you will like this!"

"Really huh?"

And we even take the stairs to go to where he is taking me. What floor are we already in?! Why are we taking so long on climbing these stairs?

"Hey! I am tired! Are we still not there?"

"We are almost there!"

I was catching my breath already when we reached a small door. He opened it and there, I saw paradise.

"Whoa~"
