College Diaries

First day of college..gosh everything about life felt like heaven. It felt like stepping in an alternate universe. It was exciting and scary at the same time. I mean this was the first time being away from home after all and the adventures that were to follow were unbelievable. Jane was 18 when she went on her unforgettable adventure. She was the only child and she was raised by a single mother. They were not poor but were not rich either. Her mother was very protective of her only daughter. Jane wasn’t exactly shy but she was rather reserved and always chose her words carefully. It was a Friday and all the resident students had to check in. Jane knew no one since it was her first year. The other students paired up and went to their rooms. Some of the first years knew each other already, they met when they went to collect their offer letters but Jane’s was collected by her mother which means she had not met any of the other first years. She was feeling out of place sitting in a corner looking down when she suddenly saw someone approach her. Carla…’hie’ Jane replied looking up. She saw a girl with short her and a round face. She had no makeup whatsoever. She was smiling as if she had seen someone she knew and missed. Carla…’you don’t happen to have a roommate do you’ Jane…’no l don’t ‘ Carla…’well great cause l don’t either. Do you wanna pair up’ Jane…’sure l have been sitting here for over two hours’ The two girls paired up and went to register and get their room key from the warden. Their room was on the first floor. They got there and started to unpack while they got to know each other. It was already time to go to the dining hall [DH], when they finished settling in. They walked to have their dinner and then walked around campus afterwards. They seemed to get along quite well. Carla was from a conservative family. She was not allowed to wear trousers. All her skirts and dresses where about knee level. She had a lot of sandals. She was very religeous. She wore her rossary all the time. On their way to their room they met Rita. Her room was across the hall. She didn’t have a roommate yet. They greeted each other and talked for a bit then the girls went their room. Jane went straight to bed. She was supper tired. Carla prayed first then went to bed. Carla woke Jane up around 5 and they went to take a shower. The showers were at the end of the hall as well as the toilets. Breakfast was from 6.30 - 7.45am. After breakfast Jane went back to the hostel and Carla stayed behind. Carla came back with Rita and another girl. Carla…’hey you remember Rita right’ , she said pointing at Rita Jane…’of course’.. Carla...’cool this is Haley she is Rita’s roommate she arrived this morning’, she pointed at the other girl. ‘guess what..we are all in the same department’ Jane…’really that’s great..nice to meet you Haley’ Haley…’ hie…are you also a first year’ Jane…’yeah’ They talked for hours about the schools and their lives and other stuff. At this moment none of them would have imagined what would happen next in their lives. On Monday the four girls went to to class to together. They had become close. Even though they were all in the same department they did not take the same classes. Jane went for her first ever lecture at college,how exciting. Everyone was siting in class when this thick girl came in. She had a tint and looked more lost than anyone else in the class. Her name was Cobie. And then there was the loud girl in the back her name was Sophia and the guy sitting next to her was Sydney. There were two girls In the corner,Caroline and Monica and the boy sitting in front of them was Ben. Cobie was thick and talkative.she looked like she was from a rich family. She seemed to care about peoples opinion about her. She was confidant and her presence was felt when she entered the room. She wore glasses and she had really small eyes and mouth. Looking at her face you wouldn’t think she was thick but she was…thick and short and light skinned. Caroline was slender kinda like Jane but Jane was a little big than Caro. She had a small beautiful face. She was dark skinned and she had a round and short hair. She didn’t seem to care about makeup and so forth just like Jane. She was rather quiet. Her family was not rich but they were not poor either. She didn’t care about what people thought of her. Monica was thick but not like Cobie plus she was taller than Cobie. She had big round eyes and and she had makeup on. She looked mature and together than everyone else.she cared about people’s opinion of her. Her father was very strict so didn’t get out much, something she and Jane had in common. Sophia was also slender. Body wise she looked like Jane. She was light skinned. She had big lips and nose. She was very talkative and smart. She looked like a slay queen but when she talked you could tell she was hardcore ghetto. Sydney was just as talkative as Ben.he was taller than Ben. Both of then were dark skinned. None of them would have imagined that they could be friends or anything more than classmates really. I mean they were all so different. They couldn’t possibly get along. But life had something else in store for them than what they had planed and imagined.
