Love struck fool
Mia's POV
"Miss Mia, it's time to dress you up."
My personal maid said as she entered my room carrying a tray of decorative hair pins. Two other maids came in with her. They were carrying my wedding dress neatly folded on another tray. It was finally setting in. I will be marrying the love of my life in a few hours. By sunset, Alpha Logan and I would be wed. I would be his Luna, just as I have been trained since I was born. It was the sole purpose of my existence, and I had been groomed to lead as his bride.
Logan and I shared a love that was eternal. He said it was a more spiritual love affair than I could understand. I believed him because I felt that love too. He was mine, just as I was his.
I took a seat in front of the standing water. It was a gift to my father from an adventure pack that was passing through our territory. I could see my exact reflection in it.
"When they bestowed this gift, they spoke of a witch." Nana, my personal maid, said as she cleaned my face. She was like a second mother to me.
"Witch? Do they really exist?" I asked her just before she started to apply scented oil lightly on me. I was meant to smell beautiful as I would most likely spend the night with Logan for the first time.
"Of course, they do. They just hate to show themselves," Nana replied. I smiled after she placed the rouge on my lips to make it red.
"Where is Logan?" I asked. I should have gone to meet him before they started dressing me up. I had only caught a glimpse of him from my room window. I missed him.
"The bride should not be seen by everyone so easily, especially the groom." She was trying to scold me, but I could feel that she was happy for me.
"And Mara?" I asked while getting up to allow the other girls to dress me up.
"Haven't seen her since I wandered into the kitchens in search of something to eat. A young lady has the appetite of a lion. She had a tray load of food with her," she sounded exhausted.
"Let her eat her fill today, Nana." I smiled. The entire pack and even the entire kingdom was festive for my sake.
I had no idea how long it took for them to dress me up, but it was near sunset when the maids finally left.
"Now stay put dear, I'll come get you when it's time to meet your groom." She winked before closing the door.
I sat down, munching on grapes that had been set for me. There were peeled apples too. I ate those, trying to calm myself down. Stress-eating was not doing the job. I felt uneasy. I needed to see Logan so he would calm me down. He always knew what to do.
I left my room. I probably shouldn't have. My white dress and head ribbon begged me internally not to stain them. Nana would be furious if she found out that I was out and about. If Mara had come to my room today, I would have stayed put. Who knew that weddings would be boring if you were the main participant?
"Mara?" I knocked on her room door. No reply. I knocked again. Maybe she was too stuffed and fell asleep?
"The young miss is not in her room. She went to the west wing of the house with a tray." A passing maid said with a bow after I had knocked for a long time.
"Thank you," I replied with a smile.
West wing? Why was Mara there? Isn't that where Alpha and Beta stayed?
I went to the west wing, avoiding guests with a skill that I never knew I had. The ability to sneak.
I giggled lightly when I had made it to his door. I know for sure that my handsome groom was not expecting me at his room on the day of our wedding, when I would obviously spend the night there.
"Mmm," I heard a groan. It sounded like Logan. Was he hurt? I put my ear on the door. I don't know why I was hesitant to open the door and enter. Did not want to disrespect the Alpha.
"Ah, yes. Alpha Logan, drill into me everything you have to offer." I heard Mara next. My heart sank. What was going on?
"Turn and kiss me," Logan commanded with a moan. With shaky hands, I pushed the door open. Was my special day meant to be like this? It wasn’t supposed to happen like this.
"Logan?" My eyes were cloudy with tears. I saw him tear himself away from Mara's possessive grasp with a growl. He had a frown etched on his face, like he didn't want me to be there at that moment in time.
"Mia?" He called out, trying to reach me. I stepped back out of fear. There was a black mist seeping from him. I blinked the tears away, but it was gone. There was only a naked Logan looking at me in anger.
"What are you doing here?" He asked in a calm, scary voice.
"What is going on?" I asked in return.
"Have you gone mad from all the wedding excitement?" He asked again.
My gaze flicked from him to Mara, she was still lounging on the bed looking unbothered.
“Mara… what the hell is this?” my voice trembled. She just sat there looking at me like I was really crazy. I'm
I looked back at my man, his face crumpling in fury. I used to joke about how ugly he looked when angry, and right now, it is no joke. He looked hideous.
"You shut up for a second, Mia. Just shut up!" He yelled all of a sudden.
"Calm down, Alpha Logan," Mara said and stood up to rub his back. He actually calmed down.
"Guards!" I looked on in disbelief.
“Mia, wait—”
That was the last thing I heard as I turned and ran away.
