About fifty feet from the bottom, there’s a green light. This informs the person sliding down to tighten their grip on the pole and slow down. At fifteen feet, a yellow light tells you to put the brakes on, and at five feet, a red light means ‘brace for impact’. We put a safety net at the bottom, so that even if you miss the cues, you’re not going to die. You might seriously injure yourself, but the slide won’t kill you.
