CHAPTER FOURGrounded I open my eyes blearily, groggy from sleep, until I spy where I am. I jump in fright, although it’s better categorized as a jerk. Jumping is pretty hard to do, considering I’m eight feet above the ground. With my thought process galvanized, I remember everything about last night, including the reason I’m hanging out above my bed instead of in my bed. Last night, Jack had used some bungee cords to strap me to the bed. They weren’t tight or anything but they had kept me from floating away. They must have slipped off during the night. I twist my head around, and see that I’m at the very top of the peak of my room. Luckily, I had missed the turret. I think it would have been a lot more uncomfortable waking up in an inverted cone.
