“Xannie, are you really going to miss us or are you happy that you won’t have to deal with us anymore?” Ben asked me as we walked out of Geometry to football practice Monday afternoon.  I was still lost in thought after such a long day. The talk with Tim in the closet and the morning news of Matt, Ben and Jesse leaving at the end of the week was all too much to take in for one day. I was sad, scared, and borderline traumatized at the thought of loss and pain I was getting ready to endure. But Tim had reassured me I was strong enough for this, so I had no choice but to convince myself he was right. If I didn’t I was taking the risk of losing my mind. “Of course I’ll miss you Ben!
