They flew back home the next morning. During the flight, they discussed their next move.
“First off,” Knutson explained, “I want to get you temporarily assigned to my unit. We need to work this together, but it has to be official.”
Keplar looked confused and surprised, “What happens to my little town in the mean time?”
“Got that covered. I'll have a couple of our police temporarily assigned to take over the patrolling of Brooklyn Center.”
“I don't think my boys are going to appreciate that at all.”
“You can simply assign one of them to temporary Police Chief. That would mollify them. My guys would be there to back them up if needed.”
