Prologue
Jennifer Vinna Davis, wanted to escape the power struggles between her family over the Davis Group of Companies. As the second daughter and fourth child, she did not expect an inheritance, instead she lived the way she wanted. Until one day, she lost her memories while in an accident because she was driving under the influence. Frederick Deverell, a doctor, saved her life and later on found out she had amnesia. Unable to leave the pitiful Jennifer, he offered her a position in his house to be a housekeeper. Little did she know that the house Frederick was referring to was the largest and most expensive apartment in Toronto---Deverell Palace and there lived four Devils---I mean, four Deverells who would shift Jennifer's peaceful life.
"Aren't you too hot to be a housekeeper?" Joash Deverell asked.
Jennifer raised her left eyebrow, "Why, do you want me to become your wife?"
Jennifer's straightforwardness and shamelessness stunned Joash, who was known to be the most arrogant among the four. After he composed himself, he smirked. "Do you want to get married to me, then?"
Fred, who was listening to both of them, put his fist around the glass he was holding and glared at Joash. Joash felt that someone was glaring at him, and when his eyes and Frederick met, he scoffed.
"What's with the sharp glare, couz?" Joash asked as he placed his arm on Jennifer's shoulders, teasing Fred more.
Fred looked at Joash's arm on Jennifer with so much anger, just the thought of Jennifer and Joash marrying made her burst mad and now that Joash touched Jennifer he couldn't help himself and he stood up.
"If you do not remove that arm of yours, I'll gladly stab you," Fred said with such an intimidating voice. "Fortunately, I have my scalpel with me. Want try me?"
The other two Deverells, Willson and Cloud, arrived on the scene and immediately blocked Frederick. "Woah woah, easy there, Fred."
Willson looked at Jennifer, "Why don't you calm your man?"
Jennifer and Fred looked at each other. She rolled her eyes, "He can manage, and he's not my man," she said, and she stormed out of the room, leaving the four Deverells in confusion.
