After seven days in Azura Kingdom Golden light spills over white marble towers that rise like cliffs from both sand dunes and crashing blue waters a crowd of NOBLES, MERCHANTS, and FOREIGN DIPLOMATS kneels on polished stone. The air smells of salt and dry spice.
At the center stands KING CHARLES, broad-shouldered, armor beneath his royal robes. His expression is carved from stone Behind him, slightly back and in shadow, stands Princess Namib a thin veil of shimmering blue mesh hides her face. Only her eyes are visible — one moment sharp and golden like desert sun, the next calm and deep like the ocean at night.
All the crowd whispers
*NOBLE 1*
(whispering)
Princess Namib... they say she walks both the dunes and the tides.
*NOBLE 2*
(whispering)
They say no man has seen her face and lived.
*KING CHARLES*
(booming, authoritative)
People of Azura, and honored guests from the neighboring kingdoms! Today we receive tribute from the Eastern Trade Alliance. Our alliance stands strong because of discipline. Because of order.
He turns slightly toward the veiled figure.
*KING CHARLES*
Princess Namib. Step forward.
Princess Namib bows silently. Her movements are graceful, fluid, like water. But her posture is rigid, precise, like a desert wind that never wavers.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(voice soft but steady, slightly echoing beneath the veil)
As you command, Father.
Her voice is barely above a whisper, yet it carries across the courtyard. Everyone stills to listen.
*FOREIGN DIPLOMAT*
(leaning to his aide)
Namib... desert and ocean. A fitting name for a child born between two worlds.
*KING CHARLES*
(cold)
She is my daughter. She is my duty. She does not speak unless spoken to. She does not act unless ordered.
Princess Namib’s hidden eyes flicker. For just a second, pain flashes behind that veil. Then it’s gone, replaced by stillness.
*KING CHARLES*
Today, you will stand at my side during negotiations. You will not speak. You will observe. You will remember. This is your duty as the heir.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(low)
Yes, Father.
*INT. PALACE HALLWAYS - LATER*
The stone corridors are cool and echoing. Sunlight filters through stained glass, casting blue and gold patterns on the floor.
Princess Namib walks alone now, her robes trailing behind her. Guards part for her without looking at her face.
She pauses at a tall arched window overlooking the sea. The wind lifts her veil for half a second. A glimpse of dark hair, pale skin.
She quickly pulls the veil back down, hands trembling.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(quiet, to herself)
If only I could move freely like butterflies and move to wherever I want like the ocean but I was only know as Princess Namib the Symbol not as Princess Mira.
Liana hurries down the hall with a stack of linens. She almost bumps into Princess Namib and drops to her knees immediately
*LINA*
(panicked)
Forgive me, Your Highness! I didn’t see you!
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(gently)
Rise, Linana. You did not see me?, No one ever does anyway.
Lina looks up, curious but terrified.
*LINA*
Please forgive me your highness
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(soft chuckle)
Do you also believe that i bite for no reasons?
*LINA*
(brave now)
I believe... you’re lonely.
Princess Namib freezes. No one has ever said that to her before. Not even her father.
*KING CHARLES*
(OFFSCREEN, distant but commanding)
Namib! We begin in ten minutes!
Princess Namib’s shoulders stiffen instantly. The moment breaks.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(to Lina)
Remember this, Lina. Following orders keeps a kingdom safe. Feelings... feelings get people killed.
She walks away quickly, robes swishing.
Lina watches her go, frowning.
*LINA*
(whispering)
But what if it’s your own feelings you’re killing?
*EXT. THRONE ROOM - LATER*
The EASTERN AMBASSADOR, a stern man in silk robes, stands before King Charles.
*EASTERN AMBASSADOR*
King Charles, our alliance requires a marriage pact. Your daughter to my son. It would secure the trade routes for a century.
The room goes silent.
King Charles doesn’t hesitate.
*KING CHARLES*
Agreed. Princess Namib will wed Crown Prince Kael at the next new moon.
Princess Namib stands motionless behind him. But her hands clench beneath her sleeves.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(inside her head)
A marriage I never chose. A face no one never noticed, A life i never chose
Everyone was expecting princess Namib to accept the proposal as the Ambassador is still bowing in approval, the ambassador clear is throat ready to speak the formal terms of the pact. Before he can get a word out, Princess Namib steps forward, one deliberate step then another she moves past her father and stands between him and the Ambassador,Gasps ripple through the room,A princess never step be for her king especially not uninvited.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(firm, clear, unwavering)
I am not interested in this marriage.
The entire throne room goes deathly quiet.
*EASTERN AMBASSADOR*
(stunned)
What—?
*NOBLE 1*
(whispering, horrified)
She spoke... without permission?
*NOBLE 2*
She’s defying the King? In front of a foreign envoy?
King Charles’ face darkens. His jaw clenches so tight it looks like it might crack.
*KING CHARLES*
(cold fury)
You do not speak for the kingdom, Namib. I do.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(steadier now, voice carrying)
And I do not belong to the kingdom, Father. Not like this.
She turns now, facing the Ambassador directly. Even through the veil, her golden-ocean eyes burn with resolve.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
Send a message back to the King of All Kings. Tell him Princess Namib of Azura will not be joining their kingdom. Tell him Azura does not sell its heir like tribute.
*EASTERN AMBASSADOR*
(standing straighter, offended)
This is an insult to the Crown! To the High King himself!
*KING CHARLES*
(roaring)
GUARDS!
Two ROYAL GUARDS step forward immediately, hands on their swords.
*KING CHARLES*
(pointing at Namib)
Seize her. She has forgotten her place.
The guards hesitate. No one has ever laid hands on the Princess before. No one has ever dared.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(not moving, not afraid)
If you strike me, Father, you strike the very symbol you built,Namib.
The EASTERN AMBASSADOR looks between father and daughter, realizing this is no longer just politics. This is a fracture in the royal line.
*EASTERN AMBASSADOR*
(cautious now)
The High King will hear of this disrespect. War could follow.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(quiet but powerful)
Then let him hear it. Let every kingdom hear it.
I am not a peace treaty. I am not a symbol. I am a person.
King Charles steps down from the dais, towering over her. For a moment it looks like he might strike her himself.
*KING CHARLES*
(voice low, dangerous)
You have shamed this house. You have shamed me.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(holding her gaze, even with the veil)
No, Father. You shamed me first, the day you decided I should never show my face.
The words hit him harder than any blade.
King Charles freezes. The court is so silent you can hear the waves crashing below the palace cliffs.
Finally, King Charles turns away, his shoulders rigid with anger.
*KING CHARLES*
(to the Ambassador, through gritted teeth)
The Princess’ words are her own. Not mine. Not Azura’s.
Send your message. And leave our halls.
The Ambassador bows stiffly, then exits quickly with his retinue.
The moment he’s gone, all eyes turn back to Princess Namib.
*KING CHARLES*
(without looking at her)
You are confined to your quarters. Until I decide your punishment.
*PRINCESS NAMIB*
(bowing deeply, but not in submission — in defiance)
As you command, Father.
She turns and walks out, robes sweeping behind her. Her posture is straight, proud. For the first time, it’s not obedience holding her spine up.
