Blurb

Zara Thompson had survived it all…Poverty, bullying, and abandonment—but nothing could prepare her for the chaos of saving a stranger’s life.

One night, changed her whole world, she saved Dominic Vale’s sister from a fatal accident, and in that instant, she stepped into a world of power, wealth, and danger she had never known.

“You saved my sister,” Dominic’s voice cut through the chaos, calm but commanding. “Ask for anything.” He always believed everything came with a price.

Zara, caught off guard and socially awkward, whispered the impossible:

“Um… a husband? For my visa…” How else was she supposed to secure her stay in this country?

Dominic smiled, dark and dangerous. “Done.”

Zara gasped, She was now bound to a man whose love was foreign, whose obsession was suffocating, and whose empire was impenetrable. She had a protector, a husband, a life and world she didn’t belong to. But she had also made a mistake: she had no idea how much power, desire, and danger would follow.

Collision of Worlds
Chapter 1 – Collision of Worlds Zara’s POV Somebody Help!!! The sharp voice pierced through the quiet night, I startled and looked around in the dim light created by solar poles. I wrapped my thin scarf tighter around my neck, shivering as the cold wind sliced through my coat. My bag was heavy with textbooks, medical notes spilling slightly at the edges, and my shoes squeaked against the wet pavement. Every step was a reminder that scholarship life was relentless. Between hospital shifts, lectures, and endless studying, exhaustion had become my constant companion. And yet, I clung to it fiercely, because every late night, every skipped meal, every sacrificed sleep was another step toward survival in a world that had always seemed impossibly out of reach. I had gotten used to invisibility, being overlooked, underestimated, or dismissed. Growing up, the world had never been kind to me. Poverty had shaped me into someone resourceful, but it had also made me cautious. Bullies had taught me to shrink, to disappear, to avoid attention at all costs. Abandonment had left me wary of trusting anyone, my heart always halfway behind a locked door. I was small, quiet and careful. The kind of person who learned early that it was safer to watch from the sidelines. And then I heard it again, a scream, sharp and desperate, “Somebody, please help me!!!” cutting through the night like a blade. My heart jumped into my throat, adrenaline flooding my veins. Without thinking, I ran towards it. My feet slipped on the rain-slick pavement, my bag bouncing against my hip, textbooks threatening to spill onto the sidewalk. The scream repeated again, frantic and urgent. I rounded a corner and froze. A construction site loomed in front of me, a chaotic tangle of twisted metal beams and scaffolding. Beneath the chaos, a woman lay trapped, her legs pinned under a massive steel beam. Rain plastered her platinum hair to her pale face, her ice-blue eyes wide with terror. “Help! Please!” she cried, voice cracking with panic. I dropped my bag without thinking and sprinted toward her. “Stay calm,” I said, kneeling beside her. “I’m trained in first aid and I can help you.” Her gaze met mine, full of panic, and in it, a flicker of trust. She was terrified, but she believed I could make a difference. That belief, fragile as it was, lit something inside me. The beam pressed down harder as she struggled. My hands trembled as I dialled 911 and frantically spoke with the receiver and ended the call. “Breathe with me,” I instructed. “In… and out. Slow. You’re going to be okay.” Her chest heaved, tears streaming down her face. I positioned myself beneath the beam, distributing its weight as best I could, my muscles straining, sweat mixing with rain, slowly her leg was free from the beam. Then I heard the sirens—relief washing through me in a wave. The emergency responders acted swiftly and within minutes we were inside the hospital. And then he appeared. Dominic Vale. He moved like a storm contained in human form; tall, broad, perfectly composed even amidst the chaos. His gray eyes found mine, locking on with an intensity that made my skin prickle. He didn’t speak at first, simply assessed the situation, calculating, commanding, bending reality to his will with a single glance. “You saved my sister,” he said finally, voice calm but edged with power. “Ask for anything.” I blinked. Anything? All at once, every worry that had been gnawing at me for weeks; the scholarship, my visa, the constant struggle to survive flashed in my mind. I could ask for financial help, for a path to stability, for someone to ease my struggle. And yet, in that chaotic instant, the words that escaped my lips were smaller, quieter, more desperate than I had intended. “Um… a husband? For my visa…” Dominic’s lips curved slowly, a smile that was dark, dangerous, and magnetic all at once. “Done,” he said. The words echoed in my head, The city around us carried on, oblivious to the shift in my life. Dominic approached me then,“You’re… married to me now,” he said, voice low, eyes still fixed on mine. “Everything is legally binding. You will need to understand my rules, my world, and my expectations.” “I-” My voice faltered, unsteady. The absurdity of it all hit me fully. I had just saved a stranger’s life, and now I was legally bound to a man whose world seemed untouchable, untamed, and utterly foreign. “I didn’t… I didn’t mean—” “Meaning doesn’t matter,” he interrupted, calm, resolute. “The law does.” I looked down at my hands, trembling. For all my careful planning, all my preparation for survival, I had no idea how to navigate this new existence. Dominic’s presence was both magnetic and suffocating. He exuded control, power, and danger, but there was something else; a flicker of curiosity, admiration, and perhaps, something I couldn’t name. “You’re strong,” he said almost to himself, but loud enough for me to hear. “And reckless. Brave, yet foolish. I like that.” “Don’t think this makes you my equal,” he added, the edge in his voice reminding me that power wasn’t just possession…it was absolute. I nodded, though my mind raced and heart pounded like a drumbeat. You’ve stepped into a world you don’t belong to, Zara. You’re a student, a nobody, and he… he’s Dominic Vale. And yet, something inside me refused to shrink. I had saved a life tonight. And somehow, even if it was frightening, this man, Dominic Vale…was binding my future to his, and there was no turning back. I tried to compose myself, brushing water from my soaked hair, straightening my tattered coat. Questions churned in my mind: Who was this man, really? What did “Done” mean? How could I navigate life now in a world built for people like him and not for someone like me? Dominic stepped closer, and even without touching me, his presence pressed against my chest. “You’ll need to dress appropriately for formalities soon,” he said, almost casually. “There are protocols, appearances… expectations.” I swallowed, unsure whether to laugh or cry. “I… I don’t know how any of that works.” “Then you’ll learn,” he replied. “And I will ensure you do. No one harms what belongs to me.” The word belongs clung to me like iron, but I could not deny the thrill that accompanied it. A thrill, a fear, a spark of something I couldn’t name pulsed through me…And for the first time in many years, I didn’t know if I was stepping into Salvation or. . . A trap.
